I can't help routing for Lenny and Midge. I love the mutual respect and chemistry. Knowing Lenny's fate makes it so bittersweet though. Every time I see Lenny loving his life, loving Midge my mind seems to calculate how much time is left and wondering what his death will do to Midge's heart.

I wonder if the writers low-key intended for them to get together from the start but just said "no way" to throw the audience off guard. They never seemed like friends to me, they were flirty and there was something there. But the writers REALLY made it seem like they would never ever happen, so seeing that scene and them actually kiss was shocking for me.

i mean, we really weren’t supposed to get this, so at this point everything is possible. maybe they wanted to throw us off guard and when that saw that we are shipping them even more so they went for it

I think it was genuine at the time, I'm not sure when Rachel and Amy said Midge and Lenny wouldn't be crossing that line but I think it was around season 3 which was true, they didn't get together then but that was before COVID when they likely had other plans in mind but given the time gap between then and now and the popularity of Lenny and Midge it probably did cause them to re-evaluate.

Yeh, exactly! I also thought it was never going to happen, because it seemed like (at least midge) wanted to keep things professional and had a lot on her plate as it was!

Lord have mercy the last episode of season 4 🤩 I didn't think anything could top the club scene in s3 but this was so good I couldn't believe my eyes

@@8u67mat I'm not sure they will show his death, if we're going by chronology they may only get to 1963 or 64 at most which will be interesting because we may get to see his trial. We might get a skip forward to the aftermath though, I heard that the original Gaslight closed down in 1970 and would be heartbreaking to see Midge go back there and pay tribute to both Lenny and the place that allowed her to find herself in a difficult time in her life.

This is such a great edit. I have NEVER been this invested in a tv relationship before. I think it could be because the writers and actors really hit the nail for what a dream connection (at least, what I would want) looks like. Their chemistry is one of the best in television in my opinion and I hate how there are a lot of people that still don't know about them. They deserve more praise idk.

I haven't seen the last couple of episodes of this season because I was waiting for this. For someone to finally make a move lol. 🙏🏼 I couldn't be happier, but there are a lot of people that are saying that they believe Lenny is going to die pretty soon and their love story is going to be a tragic one. I was confused when reading this; (but that's because I haven't yet seen the episode of him passed out on the sidewalk or him clearly suffering from substance abuse. I really, really, hope that's not his fate because it would break MY heart! 💔😢

That would be amazing! I would love to see them revise history for Lenny. I don't normally go for that kind of thing, but when it's done right, as in OUATIH with Sharon Tate, it can be exhilarating. I can see that happening with this story. Especially since I can't bear to see their relationship end. 😥

And I’ve seen photos of his daughter on set so if she signed off on it I think it would be fine (although if she wasn’t ok with it that would be different, similar to OUATIH Tarantino got Sharrons sisters permission and she signed off on the script. Differently the haunting of Sharon Tate her sister found offensive so I haven’t watched.)

As much as I hate to say it, I feel like we know how it ends 😣 my main question is whether they’re going to go all the way to ‘66 or stop before then to spare us. It would be unbelievable tv if they went there just because of what it would do to Midge, but idk if I and *gestures vaguely* us could stand it.

I think they will stop the story before Lenny dies. And I think we won’t be getting a real relationship story for these two either. They’ll meet every now and then, maybe have one night in a hotel here and there but not an actual relationship. We’ll probably see how Lenny’s addiction gets worse, so that he will start looking ill generally. Midge is worried but can’t help him.

If writers blow this relationship and kill Lenny, they will break my fucking heart.

Big win for people who bully showrunners

I ship them of course but the truth is they're not in love and they won't be a longterm couple. There's caring, attraction and attachment there but ultimately they're friends, kindred spirits and cohorts.

This is a fucking disaster and will seriously changed the series' tone for the rest of its run. What was Palladino thinking? Sucking up to the fans?

@@spellru23 What longevity? The series has only one more season left. And as I had stated earlier, a serious romance between Midge and Lenny would change the series' tone. It has already hinted Lenny's drug habit when Midge found pills in his travel bag.
