Middle Eastern Clotted Cream (Ashta)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today we're making ashta which is the middle eastern version of clotted cream. It is an incredibly versatile cream and we use it for almost every middle eastern dessert that you can think of. We also enjoy on it's own and with fruits. It's so easy to make and this method doesn't take much time nor effort. I hope you guys give this recipe a try. This is a real taste of my home.
Recipe:
Ingredients (yields 1.5kg of ashta approx)
4 liters of whole milk (powdered milk is also possible)
1 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup of vinegar or lemon juice

This recipe is so easy and took me 20 minutes! I love that I didn’t have to buy any special ingredients and I was able to make a Lebanese desert that is hard to find on the market (in the US)! It’s super straightforward and there’s noway you can get it wrong. I will do this over and over again. Oh, I also looked for other recipes out there and this is by far the best one. Thank you for posting this!!
