Middle channel, Ottawa River. With Dane Jackson

Struggling to put on my spraydeck and other such shenanigans Dane and I hit the river for a nice and mild Ottawa River Middle channel lap which is about all I can manage with my shoulder at the moment. Serious FOMO this spring but I am busy enough with other projects that it is probably not a bad thing.

It’s really sick to see Dane run an easier river so as you. It really makes us realize that we don’t always have to run the hardest stuff to have fun on the water.

What was the level? I saw Dane paddling there on the middle most days on our trip from the UK in 2004, I think he was about 9 or 10. His dad was trying to teach us to helix and mystery while Dane was throwing down ends in a k1 with a c1 paddle.
Is that the NRS storm hoodie? If so when you put it underneath your neck gasket on your dry suit do you ever take in water on a roll? Because I have one but I have yet to use it in conjunction with any dry top/suit.

No it won't be. Because you'd get wet if you did that. It will be just a separate neoprene hood

This one is some garbage one I got off amazon that doesn't fit very well, I laos have used an NRS storm hood in the past. Either one I tuck between the neoprene layer and the latex gasket layer and it works decent at keeping me warm. As long as the hood doesn't go under your latex gasket you should stay dry.

@@SethAshworth that makes sense. I kinda figured if it went under the gasket it would let water leak in on a roll because there’s tiny air pockets around the face area that water could get through then run down. Ok so between the neoprene and gasket 👍

@@TheOfficialDOP exactly it is the last thing i put on before my helmet and just snug it in there.
