Always thought that since we don't really utilize college players anymore for the US team, that aligning the allstar game with roster selection/availability would be fun and bring back an element of competitiveness. Or if they go the more international route (because it only make sense that the NBA eventually adopts more FIBA-type rules that don't break the pace of the game), then admitting more players and creating an all-star weekend tournament (more than just 2 rosters) that would play against a potential all star world team would be pretty cool. Seeing the NBA eventually integrate with FIBA to create some sort of basketball Champion's League with NBA players would be a beautiful thing for the game overall.
