I purchased a Microtech Signature Series Hera DLC with a Hellhound blade new from a dealer and had the same issue with the blade coming off the track. Had to send back to the mother ship and it took 8 weeks to be repaired. Left a bad taste in my mouth for any Microtech OTF's. Sticking to my tried and true Strider folders and the occasional lock stick :)

Ya I just looked at the website last night to see what steps I have to take. I’m going to try and get it out this week.

Rem oil. One squirt down the opening and it'll run great. Nothing wrong with the nife.

I’ll give it a go but still think they should have caught it.

Rem oil and compressed air should fix it. My CT never had one misfire in 3 years but thats what you need to do when you get a new OTF

Wait, the Medford has not been delivered? Why can I add one to my cart on their site, if they are not shipping? I must be missing something. I handled the Hawk OTF at Blade Show. It is solid. It's nothing I like or want, but it's unlike any other OTFs I have experienced.

$500+ to have a knife fail brand new out of the box. This is unacceptable. I am going to pass on Microtech

Yea, I have a utx85 warhound that felt rough out of the box, it failed to fully deploy 15 times every 10 deploys I’d say. Something was gritty inside, action felt so gritty when it would deploy. I noticed it was crazy over oiled as well, oil all over the base of the blade. Have fired it 400 times now and yea I counted hahah, solid as fk since. Probably had a burr or too much oil. I was fking pissed though I called dlt trading I blew my utx 85 out with compressed air, and kept firing it. Try that. Hope it gets fixed

Just got my combat troodon d/e dagger and my thumbs are💀 Gonna order a S/E next.

Just curious, did you reach out to Microtech and if so what did they say? I heard they weren’t taking in repairs until they’re in the new location

@@ScotchNThings I picked up a few Combats in the last month or so, both single and double edge, and haven’t had any issues (knock on wood) but I picked up a few of the recent Heretic Colossus blade show editions, even the Black Friday special edition and all 4 misfire at least 1 out of 5 times. Go figure 🤷‍♂️

I’ve had a Dirac and Ultratech. The cool factor is off the chart but I’d never trust my life to these OTF knives. They are just not reliable. I’ve had these gum up and stop functioning from cutting an orange. Put the wrong lubricant in, they’ll stop working. They’re a cool novelty item but not a reliable, daily carry knife, I don’t care how many 2x4’s Microtech hammers them through. I’ve had 2 SOCOM Elite manuals that will split wood, make fine cuts AND cut an orange peel for my Old Fashion bourbon drinks. They never once failed and old needed cleaning a time or two a year. The one sitting in my pocket right now has been a daily carry for 17 years. It’s beat and still rock solid.

Ya it’s totally a novelty. I did carry one at work a couple years ago and it was a pain in the ass.

i like microtech, but that is unacceptable how does something that can't fire more than 5 times without issue make it out of the shop? I have some I have set aside. I fired them like 15 times to make sure there were no issues. This type of stuff makes me a little nervous lol..

@@ScotchNThings yea it’s just an auto knife thing I guess. I used to think they were the coolest things ever but then when you factor in reliability manuals are just the better way to go. I’m never really interested in autos anymore and if I were to get one it would be an OTS.

Microtechs quality control has went down hill in the last few years. I’ve had 2 Socoms have to go back to the factory in the last 6 months.
