Nicely explained, thank you. As I have been a MSFS user since launch and have been manually caching during this time. However, I never married the zoom in/out map feature over to the low, medium, high quality cache settings. I have found this particular setting with MSFS very frustrating. Now that I have watched your video, know why, so thank you very much. ❤ Thanks for sharing.

Yeah also helps if your wifi isn't as strong as well

if you know how to do supersampling with your computer, do it when you want to cache some areas. go 4k or even better 8k, launch the game, select 8k resolution, go on the map and ,on those high resolutions, you ll have the grid without zoomin, far easier then to cache a full country

My manual cache window looks weird, instead up looking fairly straight down like a satellite would, it is at an extreme angle facing from south to north. It makes it completely impossible to do anything. The terrain slides all other the place and where you have painted in does not stay there, but constant slides north or south. Forget it! Please help, I don't get what I see in the videos.

As part world update 3 alot UK is now cached as long as you downloaded it

Hi InsidegameR, thanks for the tutorial. I tried exactly as you showed us and when I pressed finish and download it gave me an error saying " Unkwown error" Can you help please? I modified the cache to 50GB, so I have plenty of memory. Thanks again.

Question, I you do manual cache say of manhattan. Then next time you cache new jersey area as another file. When you play the sim next week do you need to load an area back into the sim or do all manually cached areas are simply there to be seen while flying as long as the hard drive space is good.

Had no idea this section even existed, think this is why some people had issues with MP, didn't lnow myself MP is activated via data section. I know that was not the purpose of this tutorial, but sure sometimes you find the answer where you least expect.

So if I cache an area on medium but my settings are on high on graphics does it stay at medium or does it boost it up but helps? Sorry if that's an odd question,thanks

This manual cache just doesn't seems to work for me. I did some testing: 1) Manual cached a region (high) without internet -> All the trees are missing (same for low and med res) 2) Deleting the manual cache and use only the internet -> Looks nice 3) Adding the manual cache (high) with internet -> It looks exactly the same as point 2 4) Manual cache (high) without internet after point 3 -> Looks the same (so rolling cache is at least working) And I actually have such a poor internet connection (wifi from 4 to 7Mbits/s with connection drop occasionaly). Am I missing something here for this manual cache to work properly? I was doing it just like in your video. + When you add too much manual cache (but not that much in my eyes tought -_-), the manual cache page became unbearably slow. Thanks for your video anyway.

It depends on areas you are doing if in UK America etc that had world updates they have the photogrammetry layers already so maybe it's conflicting

What happens if you fly low on a low quality area will it download the data to make it high?

No it download to your preset graphics so if your on high yes if you have strong Internet connection you'll be ok.

How long does the cache last? From my understanding, usually cache is temporary?

Yeah as you'll have rolling cache on but other with poor Internet this is a great way get sim look better

Im going cache to my house in 3 tb hard drive

Manual cache no longer works, so this is pointless. They borked it in a patch, never found out why it got borked and never fixed it. They haven't adressed any questions in months regarding it, so it doesn't seem to ever getting fixed.
