The guy missed the whole point while trying to chalk it up to complaining. It seems like him and Phil forget how the core demographic works and how exclusives are a consoles bread and butter. Otherwise, you just get a PC, which ultimately seems to be cannibalising the xbox brand identity. It wouldn't even be hard to have exclusives and then eventually bring them to PC to incentivise console sales. Hell, they have the whole 360 to take notes on what went right and the XBONE to ascertain how royally they f*cked up.

If you're in that boat, which is fine, just get a PC like xbox wants you to do. What you can't do is then complain that your business is in the gutter because of fencesitting and pandering to everyone else but your core audience because of a flawed strategy stretched thin. The whole reason their games are going muktiplat is because there's money to be made when exclusivity for them is no longer working (profitable) due to a comparatively abysmal small market share (duh). On the other hand, there's an argument to be made that innovation also stops once one of the top three console vendors gives up - as xbox has indeed been treading water for the better part of a generation and a quarter now. Baring all this in mind, it's not hard to understand why the 360 suceeded and where the Xbox One undeniably and inevitably failed among many, many poor choices pre and post Phil Spencer. What is stupid is this incompetent lack of leadership and direction without bs; for gamers by gamers. It's no longer xbox gaming, more so than it is Microsoft gaming - and the downfall is exactly the part where the corperate stink started to creep in. So, to put it simply: stupid is ignoring where it went wrong and remaining steadfast on this arrogant downward spiral while selling promises that always go undelivered. Nothing has fundamentally changed since the xbox one E3 bombshell, buddy. Stop coping.

Microsoft should take a note from Nintendo and prioritize enjoyable gameplay experiences over hardware, maybe even licensing unused/dormant IP out to third-parties for development. But if they're going to prioritize hardware they should take a note from Valve and release a "gamer's variant of Windows", similar to SteamOS (but with better compatability) and then release Xbox machines as a *baseline* standard for developers to aim for.

You're right. The trouble with Microsoft, is what Steve Jobs said: "no taste". It's been a very left-brain enterprise historically so it didn't value the diversity of appeal for chill gamers, which Sony is just about holding onto (Astro Bot!). But AAA exclusives on both fronts are lame for the gaming industry. In many ways MS are on a better path than Sony now, and I think they are just testing the waters before committing to cross-platform everything. If they do get Steam and Epic on the hardware, it gives them a ton of leverage unless Sony can craft some stipulations.

I suppose as they've again committed to the big hardware leap they have to justify it by rebuilding the brand with big games and letting the 3rd parties fill in the gaps, perhaps buying exclusivity instead, if they revert to that.

I use a Samsung OLED the one without the all- in- one cable management as it slows the video signal down last I checked. It was affordable last year and looks amazing. Only thing is you don't have Dolby Vision.

I just got a new 65inch Samsung S90C Fantastic TV. It has the same panel as the much more expensive Sony A95L. Definitely the best TV for the money right now. It is a 2023 model but the new one S95D is basically the same, just a little brighter.

It is interesting everyone that hasn't built a "business" to a $1T valuation has the answers. I think sometimes we overstep and it is noisy. Feedback is great to show what we like, but to call their decisions as not making sense is an overstep. They are lead by actual data not emotion. If 10K community members are outraged that is loud to us, but out of over millions of customers the data might show a different perspective we are not aware of. Business is business. I believe the exec team's heart is in the right place, but when there are larger initiatives, data and ultimately shareholders involved there are compromises. So if there are broken promises, sure provide feedback. But don't discount the entire journey because there are decisions that go against how we think they should move (unless you are the leading shareholder in MS). And remember they have made decisions that the business wasn't exactly happy with (and lost revenue opportunities) that was beneficial for us. Have that same balance. Either you trust the team or you don't. I just say remember the line and provide feedback up to it, but don't cross because we don't have the future roadmap or data to be fully informed.

I’ve played with a lot of ps5 players on sea of thives I’ve welcome them all and showed them a badass adventure

I guess having Halo Multiplayer available on PS would be ok, as long as the campaign stayed Xbox exclusive. They could work and keep us Xbox fan boys happy. Having the multiplayer on PS increases player population and that is better.

Sony on every occasion tried to keep game away from Xbox but Microsoft in the other hand...

I have both consoles but unless there`s a Playstation exclusive game like God of War or Spiderman, i don`t really find myself turning on the Playstation but i do use gamepass and the xbox constantly. At the end of the day why all the hate? i mean every time games are "exclusive" that`s just bad for us the consumer. I mean who wins from exclusives? not us! not the consumer! imagine a world where you buy a second hand Series S for 120$ and a cheap ass monitor for another 100$ and 150$ for 1 year gamepass and for 370$ you start rocking! and in an ideal world you would pay 70$ and be able to play God of War on that series S and in this way we the consumer win... but nooooo!!!! Been a Playstation fan since Playstation launched. But I did own a 360 and kinect for a time. And now have a Series X and PS5. But just like you I find myself on Xbox more often these days. Only on the PS5 for Exclusive games. I found more value in Ultimate Gamepass than PS Plus. For the first time ever since the beginning of PS Plus I have let it expire without renewal.

@@beemerplays I had PS+ for years and used it to play games that i had bought anyways day 1 in disk form because i`m a boomer and i like to show off my game collection on shelves to the husbands of my wife`s friends when they get invite over to our place. wouldn't work, too many buttons for controller so they would have to make it native m+kbd support which defeats the object of a games console. You did get ffxiv online though, which is arguably better than wow (some ppl say it is, some ppl say it is not all a matter of taste) and has more players atm

I’m just gonna say this now honestly I don’t mind it. I have a lot of friends that play on PlayStation and you know if I can be playing some Forza with them that would be epic

It's working out for them, but not for the studios that made the games.

I don't really care if somebody else on PS5 can play a game the same day as me it doesn't effect me at all. Just give us a next gen Xbox that can play steam games with true mouse/keyboard support. I'd easily pay $750 for how much that would open up my gaming experience.

Well I've preferred the Xbox exclusives in the past and now so if they are released on PS5 I may as well just buy their kit in the future particularly if I can stream Gamepass and use the Xbox controller (which I far prefer) on the next Playstation. Alternatively just skip consoles all together from now on and go fully PC.

EXCLUSIVES ARE BAD FOR BUSINESS. Why would any company want to limit the amount of sales to the number of consoles. Sell to multiple consoles and you WILL sale more copies. Very few people will spend $400+ on a console to play 1 or 2 games.

Obviously it was Playstation players complaining about MS buying all these studios, because then these games presumeably wouldn't be available on playstation, while the ones complaining about them going multiplatform were xbox players, because if all exclusives go multiplatform there is no reason to buy an xbox, meaning Microsoft is on one hand shafting you for buying their machine over Sonys and also the Xbox is less appealing for new customers -> smaller community/playerbase. Also you can't say putting the games on playstation payed off because some of their games sold well. Nobody was questioning that some games would sell well. The question is: Is the short term cash flow worth it, to weaken the overall value proposition of the Xbox compared to the Playstation? The answer would depend on what MS strategy is going forward. Rumors have it that apparently Microsoft is kinda changing their whole business model and approach to consoles, so it remains to be seen what this will bring. Personally I think Microsoft is not sure quite yet how to move forward, slowly coming to the realisation that GamePass isn't the holy grail and in fact unsustainable. They just put these games on playstation to get a short term cash injection (while closing studios so short term save costs) to appease big daddy Satya, who is breathing down Phils neck wanting to see results or at least the game division not being such a money sinkhole. That is all just a panic move to buy time to figure out a strategy going forward. Microsoft is far from winning. In fact quite the opposite. Lots of their games have troubled development. Studios are for whatever reason not delivering quality. The Xbox division is running at a loss. There is no real plan to get a reasonable ROI out of the AB aquisition. Current gen sales are below expectations. Half of the playerbase is still on last gen.

Okay look. I love my Xbox consoles. How ever. Consoles will become somting in the past. I know how extremely well cloud gaming technology is. You can have a high end pc graphics on all your screens in your life. So streaming games is the future. Phone and Pc as well. Console not so much

60 million PS5" plus 120 million PS4, you think. The more consoles you sell" the more chances you have to sell your games, and if the Switch 2 is more powerful and can support the Xbox old library of games, that's not good for Xbox future either, unless all you guys' care about is how much money MS makes as a company, because that's what a lot of you guys like to brag about. Most Xboxes are sold in the America, PS is so everywhere and has been for decades. MS didn't even have shop set-up in other countries to even be able to buy an Xbox to win this generation.

The voices you're talking about are from 2 different fanbases. If MS says Exclusive: PayStation Ponies say thats so messed up and anti-consumer If MS says Port all games: XBots are saying thats messed up. This is why you say you feel like there's no pleasing everybody. Well duh, look at where the fanbases are coming from. Please own fans or please rival fans for money. Where do you think MS is gonna go? Just keep in mind... if you indeed wanna be a gamer, then availability on more platforms means more players so make your own bed and stop worrying about what MS is going to do and decide for yourself where to play. Personally I prefer the least expensive way to do it and many games in GP and my kids playing many games with GP and new games from MS are included... I play on XB (if I play at all).

Ya people tend to forget that PS4 was also in talks of having online requirement and no resale of physical games. Why would I take my physical games to EB/Gamestop for nickles so they could turn around and sell it for 3 times the price. 3rd party retailers are making bank on games that the devs don't see a cent off resale. And as for Gamepass, people had no problem back in the day paying monthly to Blockbuster to be able to rent games wherever they wanted, but Gamepass bad cause it's only digital. Lol I swear the worst thing about gaming is the gamers themselves.

That is the facts of how it’s going. Nintendo is gonna save everyone on gaming and the other platforms are going to look like they’re a shitty brand and go away.

Xbox finally learned that games need to make money for studios to survive and Game Pass is great to promote small games but it destroys revenue for AAA games and screw up studios. They are basically using PlayStation users to pay for their games like PlayStation is using PC players to bring more money to their studios. The main difference is that PS5 is a best selling while Xbox is putting Xbox consoles at $100-$150 discount because it's stuck. To all of those who believed Phil Spencer's lies, good luck.

Everyday Xbox has an update and the media and Sony bots need Xbox to keep the industry alive so it seems since on the Xbox side they need propaganda videos to hype their fanbase and the other side the Sony bots are trying to discourage people from playing Xbox.

I’ve just never been a fan of Bethesda. Every game they have, I either never complete it or never have any drive to want to come back to play it.(this is not just them either, DEVELOPERS, quit making shit games. The majority of games today have no length or enough content to keep you coming back. Seriously this isn’t rocket science, but there making it seem like it is.

There should never be exclusives! EVER! I don't care what system you are behind! Gamers want to play great games; these games should never be placed behind any single system! It only hurts the industry as a whole and denies all gamers easy access to the games they want to play, regardless of platform! Think of just how much more revenue Nintendo would generate if they released their core games on other systems! Their revenue would easily increase ten-fold! Screw exclusives! That time has long since past!

The problem with xbox is lack of nurturing developers and providing guidance. They have all the money in the world but still stick with matt booty. Just count the exclusives launched from announcement without hitch. His motto must be I trust you to figure it out since I don’t know nothing and still getting paid millions while developers being laid off. Say what u will about playstation, they understand gaming industry and gamers better than xbox….still hope they can get their act together to have an identity….Mr. booty needs to go.

I’m a Xbox owner and user for those reasons: 1) bought the console and GP ultimate for 36 bucks a month over 2 years, easy purchase 2) Game Pass Ultimate which allows me and my family to try and play plenty of games at no extra charges 3) it’s compatible with Windows, so I could potentially play all my Xbox games on a future windows handheld console (ROG Ally x, Xbox handheld, etc…) 4) retro compatibility with all old games I had on my old Xbox 360
