Satya Nadella is one of the world’s most inspirational business leaders, as much a humanist as a technologist and executive. In September 2017, he came to the Intelligence Squared stage to discuss his personal journey from a childhood in India to becoming CEO of Microsoft, the culture change that he has driven inside his legendary technology company, and the transformation that is coming to all our lives as we face the most disruptive wave of technology humankind has experienced: artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and quantum computing.
While many people worry about the negative impact of exponential digital growth - from automation taking over our jobs to the increasing power that algorithms are having over our lives - Nadella proffered his optimistic vision of the future, which he sets out in his forthcoming book 'Hit Refresh'. He argued that, as technology upends the status quo, the very human quality of empathy will become increasingly valuable, and explained how people, organisations and societies must transform in their quest for new energy, new ideas, relevance and renewal.

Satya, I loved your book! I was of the opinion that culture is composed of a multitude of things including; customs, traditions, rules and regulations, view of the leadership in place etc. But after reading "Hit refresh," I'd say that, in abstract terms, culture is an individual's setting for expectation and tolerance and hence, is extremely difficult to influence. Because from an individual's perspective, change is measured holistically while from the leader's view, change is dependent on the individual's specific ability to tap into his/ her's funds of latent energy, needed to fuel transformation. I liked that you chose to lead with simple philosophies, promoted a collaborative approach and emphasized the need to lead with a clear vision. And I believe all of it is necessary to nurture innovation, foster growth and achieve a higher performance benchmark for the industry.

Trust - stability of business model. What do these concepts have in common and why are they linked. Do I trust you to be there or do I trust you to be trustworthy and how do we know the the primary value - trust - is being met???

I'm going after Microsoft not only for their technology interest such as mixed reality and/or technical knowledge and expertise, but there are other similar interests.

I hope this isn't one of those "confusion of interest" situations where M-soft is in competition with G-foundation. Same thing happened last time, the guy had a moat so big that he didn't realize the boundaries himself. But I did, no surprise there, otterly brilliant. Nonetheless, don't blame my indecision, I ain't going down for this again..😅

For you it is okay but think of people who can't be explained and can't understand. A laptop to woodoo tribals. Mostly wife and kids. People usually think rocket science is more complex than compilers.
