Microscope lenses are highly complex optical elements that correct for many different optical aberrations. This lecture describes a number of these aberrations and discusses what you should consider when selecting an objective lens as well as other precautions you can take to reduce the effects of aberrations.

Where was this video when I was first learning microscopy? It would have cleared up a lot! I've been doing microscopy professionally for over 10 years now, and this still managed to teach me a lot that I didn't properly understand. Thank you, Steve Ross!
