Micron Gauge on the Pump w/ NAVAC
In this video, we show you the NAVAC NRP8DI vacuum pump with the micron gauge on the pump. We demonstrate how this setup can be used to test your vacuum rig.
The NAVAC NRP8DI is a digital pump that is also very quiet and of good quality. We've attached AccuToolsTruBlu hoses to the pump (which are wide and pull a good vacuum) as well as a NAVAC micron gauge. The onboard micron gauge can be used for a decay test, and it has a shutoff solenoid. to prevent loss of vacuum or vacuum pump oil from going into the system.
However, this video shows how the other attached micron gauge can also tell you your pressure drop across the micron gauge rig. To start the vacuum pump, you hit the power button and hold it in again. There is a relatively small change in the vacuum across the hoses. When using a smaller vacuum hose, the micron gauges show a greater vacuum differential across the hose; the differential will be EVEN HIGHER when you pull a vacuum through 1/4" hoses, manifolds, or with Schrader cores in place.

Question, are you running navac oil? Research says shell turbo t46. A 5 gallon at 100-150.00. Thoughts.
I find that my own gauge on the pump helps me determine if there's a air leak if doesn't pull down right
I agree the larger the hoses the faster you pull a vacuum. Question do you have a clamp on those larger hoses ?

The clamp you see is just the way TruBlue hoses attach to the the end connectors

Why did the pump micron gauge go from 10mic then to 99mic I'll stay with my JB fast vac and 1/4hoses with micron gauge on the appion valve remover works just fine & no hi tech monster hoses needed I got enough stuff in the van.

Does the micron gauge shut off about 20 minutes into the vacuum? I see it has auto shutoff after 10 secs in the specifications. I absolutely hate auto shut off micron gauges that cant get there stuff together....monitoring from a distance supposed to be 15 minutes or another 500 microns to complete vacuum. the damn micron gauge keeps shutting off prematurely when you not touching the damn light button every effening 35 seconds. Messing up my vaccum time how irritating.....does the vacuum guage shut off prematurely if you not monitoring like a hawk????? Im looking for a new micron gauge but that auto shut down in some micron gauges are a total in pain the neck....

I did .. it makes no sense to me to evacuate a hundred feet of 3/8 liquid line with 3' of 1/2" hose...and think it makes a difference .. plus, I get paid by the hour ..crap, I'm the only one I know that even uses a micron guage @@HVACS

I have this exact setup but with the bluvac micron guage not only does it make me more efficient but also the micron guage will graph my vacuum and create a report that can then be attached to the job for the customer to view. They may not know what it means but i can explain why it's important. It's a conversation that will show your customer the pride you take.
