MICRO Ned Rig Catches BIG Smallmouth Bass!

Спорт

Micro ned rig catches big smallmouth bass! The new Zman Micro ned rig came out this year and I had to give it a shot in a fishing challenge to see if I could catch some big bass with it! The micro TRD is significantly smaller than the standard TRD but big bass seem to like small baits! I got to one of my favorite fishing spots to try to put the micro ned rig to the test and see how it works!

Nathan I’d love to see a video on when to choose finesse styles vs more aggressive “power” styles and how to narrow down which finesse to throw. I seem to only be successful with finesse in the River meanwhile every KZreadr is telling me to throw cranks and spinners. Cool video fun to watch. GIVE ME THE MICROS

Micro is a blast to switch things up. Loosen that drag and let it scream. Hookset is the easy part. Just caught a walleye on a 10lb test with 6lb leader. It was a lot more fun then cranking in with 30lb braid with 20lb floro.

Nathan, the next challenge I want to see is a drop shot using the ZMan Trick Shotz. I think a drop shot bait has to sink as well as suspend, just like a dying baitfish does. The Trick Shotz floats all of the time because of it's buoyancy. I don't think it's an effective drop shot bait. Prove me wrong!

Looks like great fun Nathan. I started out bass fishing in the backwater channels of my local river when I was a teenager using my mountain trout UL rod just like you are using with a Mann's purple worm and no weight, because it was the only rod I had at the time. I still chase river smallies with that old fiberglass UL rod along with my fly rod now. What a blast! How about rigging the micro as a drop shot and see if the big ones will go for it? Cool video.

Nice Nathan! The micro TRD actually DOES work for VERY pressured bass, I’d cut the Blue big TRDs down to a even smaller size than the micro and throw them on a 1/8oz chartreuse berkley half head as my Ned, just because the half head has a much much heavier duty hook. I love your river fishing content for smallies as I live and fish the Mohawk River, have caught 100s of 3-5lb river smallies including a 6.2 and a 6.6 both came on the choppo 75-which is hands down my favorite topwater, un-intrusive, the big ones can’t stand it. @adkyakman fish brain and KZread will show you. That video you made catching quality smallie after quality smallie on a keitech in the late fall blew my mind. I have terrible luck with a single swimbait…I slow roll on the rocks where there should be fish and just don’t seem to get the bites I would using reaction baits even tho I’m trying to get a reaction out of them by bumping rock? Can you do a video showing how to get fish to react with a bait that’s not necessarily meant for as a reaction bait?? I think majority of anglers don’t think about this type of question - they just tie on a reaction lure instead of learning methods to get them react to a slow rolled swimbait… I’d love any free merch as I have 3 daughters and Christmas is around the corner, I feel too guilty even buying a pack of TRDs. Thanks Nathan! I love the content- I love me some river smallies
