    I’ve never been a fanboy of anything until the Baja Boss AT after 33k miles on and off road. Mud, snow, rock, and asphalt…It’s been outstanding compared to the decent KO2’s on my other JLUR. I suspect it’s going to do well at the beach too. If they’d offer more C load 35” tall, 12” or narrower widths….😁👍🏼

    I've had the older bfg all terrain t/a. They were fine. Jack of all trades. Master of none. Didn't do deep mud. Just rain, snow and dry. Not sure about the new ones. The side wall looks fine but honestly the Mickey Thompson looks like it would do great in snow and rain. I have the general grabber a/t now. They don't handle well and seem to need balancing more often. Won't but them again. People really say that they like the falken wildpeak but I'd say I'd try the Mickey's 👍

    This is a good comparison. I had the General Grabber ATx on my 4Runner and they were ok. As others have said they are very similar in tread pattern to the KO2's. I bought the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT and after 6000 miles am very happy with them. I thought going up from 265 C to larger 285 E rated tires they would be noisy and ride rougher. Haven't had them in much snow yet, but in rain and off-road they have been great. Even in deep mud they clean well and don't clog up like the Generals did. I highly recommend them!

    I have a GMC Sierra 2016 crew cab 4wd 5.3. I replaced the Michelin Defender with the M/T’s and really like the tire. All the traction I need and not much noise at all. I dropped 2 to 3 mpg but that was to be expected for the heavier tire and aggressive tread. Wear seems to be good after 10,000 miles. So far I would put another set of these on when I need more tires.

  • @comparethetire

    @comparethetire

    Жыл бұрын

    It's great to hear that you're satisfied with the M/T tires you replaced on your GMC Sierra. Having the traction you need without excessive noise is definitely a plus. While a slight drop in fuel efficiency is expected with heavier and more aggressive tread tires, it's good to know that wear has been good after 10,000 miles. Based on your positive experience, it sounds like the M/T tires are a strong contender for your future tire replacement needs.

    I’ve owned both on a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. My only complaint is the Baja’s threw rocks that hit the body more than the BFG’s. BUT!, I did feel the Baja’s gripped the road better in wet weather (heavy rain, snow, etc). Both did well in mud. I’d definitely recommend either. Aesthetically, I prefer the Baja A/T’s. You can’t go wrong with either!!!! Both are great tires!

    I have to agree. Overall, I loved my Bajas on my Raptor, and now have KO2s on my 4Runner. I think I'd like to go back to the Baja's, because they did have better general traction. But for a work tire, it's hard to beat the BFG sidewall ruggedness. That counts for a lot.

    Enjoyed the video, but noticed 1 thing you kept mentioning was the sipes. KO2s sipes go all the way down to the bare tire whereas the Boss only goes down a fraction. This would be lost after 10K miles or so on the Boss, then you lose all that siping.

    @mojavedesertsonorandesert9531, I see you are favoring the Baja AT in this comparison! It's a solid choice with a reputation for strong performance. But let's remember, the BFG KO2 also has a strong following for its own reasons, and it might be the better choice for others depending on their specific needs.

    I like how my last questions and comments got IGNORED... This video isn't at ALL legit. It's all talk about "this vs that" So, back to my ignored tough question... Why not do a tire vs another tire TEST on everything??

  • @comparethetire

    We get a lot of comments, sorry you felt that way. We can't do a tire vs another tire (real world test), as there are a lot of variables in sizes, like, load ratings, speed ratings, tread depth and so on, for example, Baja Boss AT above 2.5 inches (section width) doesn't even qualify for 3pmsfr, so it won't make sense comparing that to someone that does. Thank you for your time.

    @mojavedesertsonorandesert9531, you bring up an interesting point about comparing M.T. tires with Cooper or Maxxis. Each tire brand and type does indeed offer unique features and strengths, and comparisons can definitely depend on specific needs and driving conditions. But for this comparison, we're looking at BFG KO2 and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T. Both of these are very capable options.
