Mickey Goes to Moscow (1989)
It's Mickey Mouse's birthday! To celebrate, here's a 1989 special that was shown on The Disney Channel in 1989 about Mickey Mouse's trip to the Soviet Union in 1988. The special is narrated by Willard Scott. Enjoy!
I DO NOT OWN THIS, [AS] DOES. I GOT THIS FROM DAILYMOTION, SPECIAL THANKS TO WACKYJACKY FOR THE VIDEO. FAIR USE

3:03 It’s So Lovely How Mickey And Misha Became Great Friends.
Looks like a rare Mickey Mouse TV special that was shown on The Disney Channel back in 1989! And yes, it looks very official!
If mikey was in 1991.he would see ussr collapsed
Soon after this trip, Communism fell in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union... coincidence? ;-) Thanks for this special, I've never seen it before (didn't get Disney Channel back then)!

Vance's TV Archive Glad to help!
It really has been a great trip that Mickey went to Moscow Leningrad and Tallinn for a 2 week film festival to celebrate his 60th birthday and he and Misha the bear was glad to be along side my best friend as the 4 animated films Snow White and the seven dwarfs Fantasia Bambi and 101 Dalmatians were brought to Russia back in 1988
I love this Disney character and this year he and Minnie are 94 years old. For this person's information, Snow White and the seven dwarfs is the first Disney movie, Fantasia is the third movie, Bambi is the fifth movie, and 101 Dalmatians is the seventeenth Disney movie and all 5 of them are on Disney plus. My favorite 2 favorites movies with Mickey in them are The prince and the pauper and Fantasia.
Ever since Mickey Went To Moscow Russia In The Soviet Union, Everyone Was Going To Have A Film Festival To Bring All 4 Of Walt Disney’s Famous Movies Like Snow White And Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Bambi, And 101 Dalmatians.
Update:Everybody thought that Mickey Mouse was an American spy and was arrested
As seen only 35 years ago in 1989.
You know interestingly according to a news report on this it was said Donald Duck was also there on hand for the movies premiere.
I remember when Mister Rogers visited Moscow in 1987, it’s so cool that Mickey Mouse visited the Soviet Union the following year, back when Mikhail Gorbachev made the Soviet Union more open.

0:16 Mickey: Gosh! I’ve Been To So Many Swell Places. Hmm My First Trip Was On A Steamboat, And Later I Took A Train. Ha,ha! I Even Climbed The Alps I Guess I’ve Been Just About Everywhere, Gosh This May Be My Most Exciting Trip. Hey Moscow, 🇷🇺 Here I Come!
I think around this time, Disney was in talks with Russia to bring them into the EPCOT World Showcase. It never happened, though.
