George Jameson no you are so easily fooled. Go join a mma gym and 1 training you get humiliated and then you know the power of martial arts

People like him that try and wake us out of our comfortable martial art coma, will never be popular. Forget reality, I'm ready for a 'Simple Simon' light work out, opponents that flip themselves onto the mat, high fives from the instructor, followed by a nice coffee latte.

Mate, believe it or not, I had to actually Google f45 gym, as I'd never heard of them. And now I find out there's one within 20 minutes of where I live. No thanks.

I dont agree. On the contrary, all people around the world ( 0:21 ) will NOT use full power. Most people do not know how much power they have, nor how to use it. Many times they instinctively use as much power they think will just stop the guy or push him away, other times their strike is weak in the fear that the other guy will be aggravated even more if he receives a harder hit. Also trained fighters know what damage they can do and are careful how they use their power. These type of people usually train and have a different mentality towards weaker people, they usually don't bother. The "reality" is that we should train to use various levels of power depending on who we're fighting. If you punch a thin guy or even a woman that's punching you, the same way you would punch Mike Tyson, then a) you are an idiot b) you are a murderer and most like c) you will be in jail and maybe even hunted by his family members for the rest of your life. There is no "statistic" that says only huge powerful and deadly attackers attack people. "Reality is a constant", but with variables that are not fixed. Variables are affected. Training to only use full power is a huge and dangerous mistake. If that is how you train, you are a walking hazard to society. I agree that we must train to be able to deal with powerful attackers using very much power, but not just that. You should train to be able to afflict from just superficial pain, to bruises, to deeper impacts (internal organs), to bone breaks and some will say even to kill, something to which I disagree on. Always be wise and merciful, always control the level of power you can attain. Having said that, I've seen other videos of this guy and I think it's safe to say I am in agreement with what he teaches; it's refreshing to see instructors that have given thought to what they teach, even if they don't get everything right. It's true they know way more than others, but they too and we all learn.

outofthebox7 Wow - your response was super long and completely wrong. If you are attacked, then trying to calibrate your response to the body type or gender of your assailant could get you killed. Women and skinny people can knock you out and stomp on your skull, especially if they’re lucky.

This is such bollocks. How many of these 'considerate' fights have you got into? If someone attacks you, you have a right to defend yourself by law. I'm not going to ascertain 'how to vary my attack' based on my assailaint, if it's on, its fucking on.... Your response sounds exactly like one who spends way too much time in theory & barefoot in his local dojo, bowing and 'being the attacker' in his sensei's demonstrations

@@wyverntheterrible Oh the irony of how you describe me... If you only knew... I describe you now based on what you said, as not being much of a thinker, not much of a moral person, probably a brawler not a properly trained fighter and very foolish to say the least if you would fight a 70 year old as you would fight a 30 year old or a 15 year old. Using full power on all of them shows you're a very scared human being and sure you may get the job done, but the courts will handle you accordingly... There are variables on how they judge on issues of self defense, hope you know that. Get well soon. Have a good day.

@@mcronrn I just saw your silly comment. I don't "try to calibrate" anything. Is that what you understood? Discernment, capability and morals instinctively dictate what I will do. You probably don't even know what I'm talking about. Have you ever been in real fights? You really think that you have to kill the attacker to stay alive? Then you're a buffoon wasting my time. Having said that, I'd rather slap you in the face with my trained palm, then gouge you in the eye, just like I'd rather kick you on the side of your leg, then break your nose.. Sure there may come a time where I will need to kick you in the balls or punch you effectively in the face or choke you etc. but all in due time. The list of the choices I have is a long one. If a weak woman attacks me, I'd rather pressure point her in the beginning or/and manipulate her limbs to control her. If a strong built woman attacks me, I 'd rather keep pushing her away to start with and if she doesn't want to stop then I could slap her in front of her face (downward and forward palm) which will hurt her alot, make her teary and dizzy or even give her a slight bloody nose and then take it from there depending. I know I'm wasting my time with you, but hope dies last. Have a good one.
