Michigan Steel The Official Movie

Спорт

For years, we have dreamed about traveling to the Midwest to fish for steelhead. We know we have a lot of you Addicts out there that watch our content! We had so many unanswered questions about the steelhead that reside in Michigan and other Midwest steelhead fishing waters! Furthermore, we planned this whole first adventure fishing in Michigan, coordinating with a couple of great anglers out there to help us learn the fisheries. We can't wait for you to see all of these episodes. Huge shout out to all the people in Michigan that we met, that helped us, and reached out to us to help. Michigan has something very special, and we appreciate all the kindness we received learning a new exciting steelhead fishery.

Welcome to Mich! Been fishing Steelies in those waters for over 40 years….. Guided there for over 10 years. Fantastic fishery! Oh By the way there are Brook trout, browns, rainbows, Coho, Kings, Pink salmon, Atlantic salmon, Lake trout galore…..and much more. Best in world Muskie, Walleye and smallmouth fishing too. Those winter fish have typically been in the river since late October, and they get colored up. Chrome fish are in the river late October and November, and then another push comes in the river in the spring…and often in January if we get a thaw and a little melt-off. As a fly-fisher it’s Hard to beat small flies…little black stone, green caddis larvae, Hexagenia nymphs, Hare and copper…and of course yarn eggs.

Great movie guys, and glad you had a good time in my home state. Thanks for giving some respect to our fish. Seems like most of the folks who bash GL steelhead have never fished there. You were fishing to winter fish which don't fight as hard as fall or some spring fish. It's a water temp thing. I've seen some fish take off on 200 yard runs never to be seen again, porpoising all the way. It seems like in order to get those real blue back/bright silver fish you have to fish them in November. It only takes a couple days in the river to color up like the ones you were catching. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment. Glad you had a good trip.

I'll make it easier on ya next time you visit. Theirs a dam at a place called fish ladder park in Grand Rapids Michigan where I was born. The steelhead and salmon stack up there like you wouldn't believe. You can fish the bank or boat and everyone catches fish there its my favorite place for all species. Massive pike, huge smallmouth and of course the salmon, steelhead and brown trout. Most people fish floats but theirs so many snags you'll get hung up alof if you dont really know that area of the river. I use a deep diving thunderstick Jr and steelhead literally swallow that lure, they love it. Theirs enough fish for everyone, no need to keep it a secret. Now you know! Hope to see a video of you guys there someday

I like the way each individual angler is focused on. The style of the video almost gives a competition feeling to the audience as well putting a personality and angling style on the angler that finds success. The combination or Jordan, marlin, and the other guy is very complimentary to each other.

This video is so well put together. Thank you for making and sharing it. So awesome. And now you can call Cameron , Cameron on point... He nailed this video. Good job to you all. My first ever steelhead came from the wind river njeer the pipeline. 14 lbs buck. I thought it was small and I was always trying to figure it out. For me it's by far my largest ever steelhead. As a B.C. angler I'm stoaked to see Cam pick up the pin and get some fish. Would love to hear what he thinks about pins vs spinning reels/baitcaster reels. I started fishing a pin last year and I'm absolutely hooked, rarely ever touch my baitcatsers now. Awesome video as always, love the content!

We all use pins for great lake steelhead. I never see anyone using baitcaster because the weight usually just 3 to 5grams.

@@fjin1yeah I know they are the norm out that way, but from what I understand they aren't super common in the pnw below the 49 parallel. The addicted guys use spinning rods a lot for float fishing which is really uncommon up here in B.C.
