It's so cool to see Muskegon represented. I lived there for many years before moving to Texas. I worked at the park in 2001 and have many fond memories of my time there. Fun fact. At one point during my season there, I got the interesting experience of seeing a wedding taking place on The Shivering Timbers from my perch at the top of the Logger's Run. I very much miss being in Michigan and really want to revisit this park!

Welcome to pure Michigan! Last time I went there my parents and my sister went on the shivering Timbers and I decided to take a train to the other side of the park. And keep in mind I was like 12😂😂

A Grand Rapids native here, happy to see you experience Michigans Adventure! I used to go every year as a kid, and the Wolverine Wildcat is the reason I will never ride another rollercoaster in my life. As a kid, I was very tiny, very lightweight. I rode that coaster with my father and my seatbelt came undone, and I was pretty much being held down by father the entire ride. All they had back then were seatbelts and lap bars, and the lap bar never entirely reached my lap, so it was a terrifying experience. Fun fact about shivering timbers, it’s the 4th longest wooden rollercoaster in the world. It consistently makes the global rankings list as one of the best wooden coasters in the world. It’s also the fastest wooden coaster in the state topping at 57-60mph.

Those were buzz bars back in the day. All PTC trains had them - some still do. Coaster enthusiasts WANT airtime, something you can't get with the more modern individual orange bars like Cedar Point has. A seatbelt was all that was needed - you weren't going anywhere. :)

The Shivering Timbers is the World’s third largest wooden roller coaster! I’m surprised they didn’t tell you! My name is Lynn Glaser, and I came to the petting zoo as a 13-year-old from Des Plaines, IL, with my mom and dad; three brothers; and grandma and grandpa from Chicago as well as an aunt and uncle and cousins. We stayed in log cabins overlooking White Lake that my husband and 3 daughters purchased in 1973 and owned for 47 years. Visitors to the White Lake Area can still stay in those same log cabins because we sold it to a young man a couple of years ago; they are now called White Lake Log Cabins, rather than Glaser’s Glenn Log Cabin Resort. I haven’t been to the park in years so I really enjoyed the tour! The White Lake Area, Muskegon, Tri-Cities, Holland, Ludington, Pentwater, Fremont, Newaygo, and Grand Rapids Chambers of Commerces should link your video to their websites!! You should let them know about this tour!! Have a blessed day!!

If you’re trying to do all the Cedar Fair parks, it’s almost essential you hit Cedar Point! It’s their flagship park and it’s definitely the best park in the chain if not the country. It is considered the roller coaster capital of the world because of how amazing their ride collection is! I’m glad you enjoyed Michigan’s adventure, it’s smaller but definitely worth it for Shivering Timbers.

Rides are better at cedar point, but it is not the best park in the chain. Kings Island is a better park than CP. KI was recently voted #3 favorite park in the US in a poll earlier this year. CP was #6. Like I said.... CP for the rides, hands down. KI for the better park experience. I consider both parks as my "home park" as CP is just an hour drive for me, and KI is a 4 hour drive. Been to both parks over 20 times so far this year, as we are platinum pass holders. The best part about living in Ohio is having these 2 parks in your state.

@@Spike-sk7ql Kings island is great too, almost neck and neck for me. I feel like kings island lacks the resort atmosphere that cedar point has tho, CP feels much more like a destination compared to kings island with its location and the boardwalk. I also feel like kings island needs that true standout ride to become the best in the chain in my opinion, but park atmosphere and operations kings island has over cedar point by far. I also think kings island has live entertainment too in the fireworks and parade. But cedar point has the edge in my opinion for rides and location overall

So awesome to see you coming up here to visit Michigan's Adventure! It's usually overlooked considering it's so far out of most everyone's way in the states. I visited just last year and it seemed pretty underwhelming. The arcade was shut down and none of the monitors in line for the rides were running at all. I'm glad to see the park waking up again! Although I cannot confirm this myself. Here's a fun fact I've heard a time or two about this park. before being bought by Cedar Fair, and slightly after building Shivering Timbers (The largest roller coaster in the state). They planned to build a very large and possibly record breaking steel giga coaster to compete with Cedar Point's Millennium Force. Although I have no proof whether or not this was actually planned, there appears to be a large plot of land cleared just behind the train tracks that I've always wondered about. I believe this is a sign that they did at least plan to expand the park further at one point in time.
