I was river fishing for rainbows, and I am convinced I saw a few salmon. I have never caught a river salmon (only on a charter in the Big lake). Looking for my first this fall. Great video.

Great video. I don’t care to much for center pin but get the idea on why to use them. I’ve just lost too many fish with one. I like to use a fly reel. Not as smooth sending out line but I make it work. Those were some fresh fish over nighters.

Love your videos. My in laws have a cabin west of cadillac. I've only just started fishing for salmon in the past 2 years. So, what is the season on salmon? We would go up in October and fish the inland rivers. I didn't score a keeper last year, but I'll go back, sooner the better!

I run 40lb power pro on all my salmon rods!

I went last year for the first time. Tried jigging spoons and soft plastics. Fished for two days straight and never got a bite. I need to learn that float trick.

Do they hit those thundersticks througout the whole salmon season? Id think at at some point they stop hitting bait and focus on mating?

Never forget dude your luck to be fishing here and I hope for you that you'll keep in mind these resources are not infinite. Here in France, our ancestors didn't gave a fuck and now salmons are almost exctincts, they're stories that ancients told us 😢

I’ve watched all your videos but sometimes my eggs look good but after a couple drifts they are pale and white, will the salmon still bite the eggs if they are milky colored. My buddy gave me some they were previously frozen so I thinks that’s why they are like that. When I caught a fresh king and bled it and cured the eggs that night they seemed to turn out better.

Oh yes, sometimes they actually like eggs that are more washed out. Try reeling in slower and casting gently to keep your bait in tack!

I don't think these are river run salmon. These are actually kings that live year around in the river if you were listening to Kyle. I don't think these salmon ever go into the big lake's or very little time spent there.

I bet there are fish in the system earlier than most thing! They can just be tricky to catch but never be afraid to go in early season scouting missions and just fish like you normally would.

Varys depending on where you are. I think though they are in the region of 5 per person a day. It does change though depending on location and season so be sure to check before hand if you go fishing here.
