I discovered new water last week when I walked 50 feet farther down the steam. It was amazing seeing all that new water. Next week I might even go another 25 ft down. This is a complete eye opener and I hope others try it.

My wife thinks that switching up the way we fish is “stupid “ in her opinion. But watching you use the bait casting reel was eye opening I am going to go to a new reel and a longer rod, you made me a believer. I also will change my terminal tackle set-up. Thanks. I’m also going west this late spring early summer so I think it will relate.

From Jeremy: I noticed his upper portion of the rod when using the bait caster was twisted? Is it normal for that to be that way? I've never fished for this species just been pan fishing and bass my whole life. Was wondering why you would leave it in that position?

You do a much better job than another MI angler who posts content on youtube, way better video quality, you actually break down your rigs and techniques and don't do choppy/low grade transitions. Plugs are killer around wood. Territorial instinct is strong on the bigger fish. We all understand the importance and effectiveness of spawn, especially in October and early Nov. Once the eggs thin out around Thanksgiving I don't touch it anymore and run plugs for the bigger fish.

Awesome video! I won a G3 18CCJ in a Bi-State Shad fishing tournament on the Delaware River in PA / NJ. I've owned several boats with prop outboard's and it's taking me awhile to get used to the Yamaha jet drive at slow speeds; downriver approaching, rapids, to a dock, or onto the trailer. I think I will look at a Yamaha kicker prop driven outboard to improve steering at low speeds. A bow mounted Minnkota trolling motor is another option. The G3 18CCJ does not have oar licks / oars, so I need a backup. Do you recommend a k8cker prop outboard over a bow mounted trolling motor? Can you recommend a horse Power range and give your opinion on short or long shaft?

Got me my 1st 15lb steelhead this season. But before that I kept having the problem with my hook popping off even when I'm fighting them for a sec and that's with fresh hooks on too. I have my drag set med-light so I can lightly thumb the spool and fight them that way. Am I doing something wrong or that's just the game?

It sounds like, when you’re floating with a baitcaster, you click it into freespool and fight the fish with your thum-drag, at least sometimes. Am I right? That’s pretty common for bass fishing. What’s your thoughts on the trade-off between casters and spinning reels for float fishing. Casters let line out smoother but their drag systems are trash compared to spinning reels. Just curious.

And when u get hung up it's mostly likely ur sinker. If u have a lock swivel it will not pull loose.. try it sometime when u get hung up the swivel will open up and the sinker will fall off and u lose nothing but ur skinner best way to fish the wood
