He never won the BDO world title, just the world masters.

Wow...MVG was only half the man back then than he is now.....

I can't understand how Michael van Gerwen can have physically changed so much in a short space of time. He looks like he has aged 20 years in 5 years time. Unrecognisable.

Why do people say this. He's gone bald and fat that's it. Of course it will make you look older

Any PDC Major is worth more than the BDO World Championship.

Over the course of Martin Adams's three BDO World Titles he defeated Mervyn King, Daryl Gurney, Dave Chisnall and Dean Winstanley. Three of those players are currently inside the PDC's top 32, they're hardly second rate, not by a long shot, yet none of them have won the Lakeside. Agreed the majority of better players are in the PDC, but I for one wouldn't say his titles are worthless.

MadBoy8734 beating one good player in the early stages of there career (before they turned pro and improved) is not that great a accomplished. compare it to pdc, where u hav to beat the best to win title.

None of those players with the exception of Daryl Gurney were in early stages of their career. Winstanley, Chizzy and King were all professional's at that point and Mervyn King had already won the World Masters and played in two Lakeside World finals.

MadBoy8734 theirs a whole heap of difference between calling yourself a pro in the bdo, and actually being a pro in pdc.
