He is certainly super underrated as a guitar player. I love Oz Fox but Michael is better. Michaels solo stuff is great too.

Michael’s guitar work is very good. If you think he has been overrated, this must be because nobody has been considering him at all snd we all know why. If Stryper wasn’t a Christian band, He’s a professional, he’s a great guitarist, Heck, he sat in for Boston, that tells you that people in his world knows he’s got talent, but ranking guitarists is a very hard thing to do. I’ll tell you who is underrated, is Ted Nugent. He is passed by for the Rock snd Roll hall of fame because he is a staunch believer in The Constitution of The United States. Genre’s often mislead and hide a guitarists full talent as well, Prince is a perfect example. He is in my top 5 greatest modern guitarist My list has Randy Rhoads at the top. But you hsve also consider that guitarists have all been influenced by their predecessors. If that’s the case you have Chet Atkins, BB king, Chuck Berry, Glenn Campbell. Then comes Clapton, Beck and Hendricks. Fast doesn’t mean anything, Yngwie Malmsteen, is wonderful but very boring, if he’s going to go up and down the fretboard like that, I’d rather list to classical, (hence RR) Gary Moore, Eric Roberts and Joe Satriani do that with much more creativity. If I want to be wowed by fast, I watch Paul Gilbert. Then there are the melodic guitars like the awesome David Gilmour who can melt you away with and endless guitar solo that makes you want to cry. George Harrison’s “ My guitar gently weeps” reminds me of How DG plays. There are hundreds of guitarists that can kick Axe 🎸, but it is the spikes, the innovations that stand tall, and with that said, the greatest example of that is Eddie Van Halen, but what I give to Stryper Is Soldiers Under Command is one of my top favorite guitar intros. It is freaking awesome. It’s up there with crazy train.👍

Yea, but I can name a minion of excellent guitar pickers .....🎸 🎤...Michael Sweet is a excellent vocalist as well and the performances are getting better up to now and that is unique.

By far the best lead singer who also plays lead guitar in the history of Earth. He also writes some of the greatest solos ever. M.S. is a musical genius.

One of the worlds greatest musician, composer, guitarist, lyricist and singer. Truly a gift from God IMO. Thanks God and thanks Michael.

Pray for Michael as he goes through treatment for his cancer. I hope and pray that Michael and Oz both make a full recovery. We don't want these two men of God to leave this planet just yet.🙏

Fucking love this song. Stryper does not get enough credit for their style of music - the heavily utilized harmony rhythm parts for me have always been a distinctive part of Stryper’s ‘sound’ and nobody ever mentions it.

Saw this guy 25 years ago at a bookstore after his Cali home had just been burglarized. Was gracious as could be and played a killer acoustic set...

Over the years Stryper have put out some fantastic metal compositions. This track is one of my all-time faves, love those thumping power chords.

Just purchased that guitar from Sweetwater.

There is a time and place for everything. I do enjoy metal Christian Music and rock. The biggest problem I have it that all the comments prove my point. He's so great. When we should be saying how Great is God though His Son Jesus Christ. Look in the comments; not many are even saying this is really Glorifying God. Thats an issue.

I don’t rate Michael as high up the scale as you Stryker fans do . His singing is ok. The first time I heard Honestly on the radio, I thought s girl was singing. Michael's midrange has matured wonderfully. He's been a better singer this last decade than ever before. If you have listened to the albums No More Hell To Pay, Fallen, God Damn Evil etc. you will know Michael is leagues beyond everyone else. He is simply unmatched. There's also not a musician with better guitar harmonies
