    This reveals that Ratt were actually great players and Stephen actually back in the day was a great rock singer. Pretty impressive, these guys were quite versatile

    We all know Michael can play classical. We know he rocks. But on Born on the Bayou he almost goes Country. His Flamenco is great too. I guess he did it just to do it. Love his classically tinged rock and roll the most. Melodies drip from his brain to his fingers. Thanks for the post Axe.

    It's a shame. Aside from places like KZread, and bootlegs, awesome performances like this will never see a wide release ever again. In a shit modern music world there needs to be more inspirational performances like this to show people there is more to music than just auto tune and canned studio tricks.

    +Drew Danen How much more of a "wider release" can you get than you tube? You tube is available everywhere in the world where you have internet access. Can't get anymore wider exposure than that. Cheers.

    +Zee Risek If you think streaming is infallible you can keep believing that while being as condescending as you want, but for people like myself that actually give a damn about quality, holding something to a higher standard and having a physical copy that can being watched whenever/however in complete form without any copyright or server hang ups, a wide dvd/bluray release of the concert can not be beaten as the best form of medium. Unless you'd rather watch a weak compressed version of a vhs recording (two songs mind you) that is more likely to hold far less interest and sort of robs the creators and fans , then you're a fool. Sorry.

  • @EasyZee69

    @EasyZee69

    Drew Danen I do think streaming is the future. Kids today do not own records, dvds, cds, or any physical copy of the music they listen to. It's all digital, i tunes, mp3s, streaming, whatever. Like it or not, this is the future of music consumption. Would I like to see a better quality version of this? Sure. There is no reason why you can't have excellent quality while streaming or on you tube. Cheers.

  • @NeurocideVIbeKILLa

    @NeurocideVIbeKILLa

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Zee Risek First off, I don't think you're completely correct on the physical copy thing, especially when vinyls have made a resurgance in recent years and there are plenty of kids that know the difference in quality between something that's an instant download, the like and physical copies and would prefer it just as much as the other depending on how they feel about it, but that's totally beside the point. If you actually read what I first initially said instead of jumping to conclusions like a moron you'd know I said "Aside from places like youtube", meaning that I'm well aware of the fact that it reaches a wide audience and I wasn't denying that at all, but its not without its flaws; which is apparent in both quality and the absence of a full show. My point is if Ratt were to release this Unplugged performance, in it's entirety; which isn't available both on streaming and physical copy, it would give all preferences of all ages the opportunity to enjoy this entire performance at its absolute best when music was more organic and less homogenised. It would also hold more interest than a random clip of the show.

    As a result of your personal insults in both your replies, being called a "moron" and a "fool", I am muting this post so I don't hear from you again. Notice, I did not call you any names or hurl personal insults in any of my comments, even my first comment which you felt was condescending did not contain personal insults. This could have been an engaging conversation, but I don't need to be called names. Bye and muted.

Everyone at work was rocking out to this show for a couple of weeks. MS with Warren was a killer guitar show WOW Stephen sounds so good on these tracks. Robin was starting to get sick from his Heroin addiction at this point and it was such a shame cause this band had that Kick-ass attitude Rock and Roll style that is missing today. This fucking rocks!! I've never paid any attention to Ratt but I sure as hell will be checking out their back catalog now. A band from the same town and era as the original gunners lineup, what an era for balls out rock n roll.

    Not a fan of Ratt but this sounds pretty good. Gotta love Schenker in there though.

    Pearcy's voice suits Born On The Bayou really well. He's singing really well here actually. Maybe because he can hear himself properly, and there's cameras so he warmed up and put the effort in?

    Or, maybe this was what his range really was and he was pushing too hard in most of their originals? You can hear how he's more comfortable in his own skin on "Givin' Yourself Away".

    @@Limited_Light It's all in about the same vocal range area though isn't it? He's singing fairly high here like most of Ratt's '80s stuff, not super high. The verses on Giving Yourself Away are lower than he usually does though yeah.

    @@danswon Compare it to "Tell the World" from the EP. Maybe even their demo version that was on the Metal Massacre compilation.
