The five albums Michael Schenker made with UFO back in the 70s are maybe some of the best albums ever made!!! If you haven't listened to them yet, do now. Even if you don't listen to Hard Rock, you really must hear them.

The more I really listen to Michael Schenker, the more impressed I am and the more I’m inclined to move him up my list of greatest guitarists in rock history (which is obviously highly subjective). He just seems to always sliver the jamming while remaining musical - like virtually on every song.

Had Schenker stayed with UFO after the live album came out, and then went back to record a new studio album, UFO probably would've made it fairly big in the States. They were on the verge when "Strangers" came out, but of course, Michael had quit by the time that came out. What could've been.

They did fine without him. Love the Chapman era. They even got on TOTP after he left with Young Blood and Lonely Heart. The reason why UFO didn't hit the big time was lousy management and an indifferent record company. I don't think any of them wanted the big time but they sold 20M records which is very respectable.

Michael is without a doubt, a great player, who portrays a lot of feeling in his work. UFO were basically a almost nearly major outfit in the 70s who got lucky, when they found him,as he took them to a place they probably, would never have reached. I knew MS and UFO in the 1970s,before he joined. This is , IMO only of course. Don't shoot the messenger cause of the message. UFO's contribution to what was then, the genre of " HEAVY ROCK" [not metal] is saluted and acknowleged i am sure by all.
