Michael Rutter laps the Isle of Man TT course on a KTM Super Duke R EVO

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

TT 2022, TT legend Michael Rutter said to Fast Bikes John McAvoy “it would be a brilliant idea to ride something with handlebars and no fairing” around the TT course, so we sorted it out for him.
Enter the KTM Super Duke R EVO, shod with Metzeler Racetec RR’s, protected by R&G and a ride that shook Michaels Shoei from Bray Hill to the Start Finish Straight some 37.73 miles later. With only yellow flags from the previous race, fuel conservation and the inevitable fly’s peppering his visor (see 18:37 for the full effect), slowing him down according to Michael this was “The scariest bike I have ever ridden around the TT course”…
Massive thanks to our sponsors who made this possible.

Funny thing in my opinion is that the video tries to make some interest in focusing at the rear wheel of the bike and the riders helmet top - I think the most enjoyable and sensible view is the view straight forward so one can see and concentrate on the whole route, too... Anyhow, it was nice to see Michael riding a streetbike too. I remember when I was a young man his father was very well-known figure in the sports.

Uncomfortable & scary is why I love this bike so much tbh. It's a thrill at high speeds, so light it just jumps & pops over everything. Ofc bad for racing good for some enjoyment a steering dampener keeps it getting to out of hand & keeping your legs tight & tucked is key. I just hate on my bike there isn't much to grab onto with my legs. Kinda uncomfortable in a bad way, just holding onto the chassis between the seat. The QS ia good when it works but seems to fall out of spec quite often.
