@@calebhuger5677Respectfully disagree. At the NFL level you have to be multi dimensional. Escaping pass rushers and running for a few first downs to give defenses another wrinkle to think about is a must have if you are seeking an elite QB. If you are seeking a good QB, you can lower the requirements to 'just good at pocket passing.'

@MultiWWill you're absolutely right but the best qb ever to play had one of the worst 40 times ever. And the difference between a straight line with no defenders and scrambling away in the NFL to extend a play is huge. And he couldn't successfully scramble in college.

@@calebhuger5677Tom Brady is an all timer. I'm definitely generalizing here, but I think most good pocket passers are more like Kirk Cousins. I don't know if this modern NFL data science football era that prioritizes a rotation of pass rushers would birth out another pure pocket passer with incredible grit and intangibles (not to mention the 2000s Pats D) like Tom Brady. I think you've got to be able to move effectively and punish a defense sometimes with your feet. We are probably going to agree to disagree on this one.

Are people just reacting to the headlines? Orlovsky's point is that Penix's injury history will knock him out of the top 25. Even as a UW alum and diehard Penix fan, that's a fair criticism.

The fact he ran a 4.5 shows that he intentionally stopped running to stop getting hurt. Penix has proven he chose not to run and he hasn’t been hurt since 2021. I can see why Dan was a 0-16 QB. He’s not the brightest.

Tua was also much younger coming out, and healthier relative to Penix. 2 ACL and shoulder surgeries in 6 seasons is a lot. He's a first round talent, but I think he needs to sit and fully adjust physically and mentally to the league.
