Although I have seen this numerous times so I know what is going to happen, it NEVER GETS OLD!!!

I'm a grown man of 59 years of age and this had me crying, and I'm not even an Everton fan, I follow Forest for my sins, but huge respect to all at Everton and the BBC who made this happen. Let's hope this horrendous war is over as soon as possible!

I'm a 6ft 7 Geordie Trucker and Newcastle fan, I also cried. Emotional stuff!!! As Micky Kicky said at the end there, People like Paul need to be celebrated for the efforts and care he has given to those in crisis. He's amazing. This was amazing!

Oh man, what a great lad and awesome surprise! People like him seldomly get praised like that. And they don’t even expect to get recognition for their good work. Such a lovely segment - who’s cutting onions?

I have never really supported football and couldn't tell you the last time I watched even part of a game. I'm now an Everton supporter and will follow them with interest. When I stop crying that is!

Was at this match and the whole crowd was so confused what was going on at the time, what a wonderful surprise and gesture for Paul. Remember my dad asking me who did I think was in the mascot costume running up and down the touchline haha.

"Could you hold my shirt down, Frank?" Priceless. To be fair to him...he goes into war zones, something half these players, and Lampard, might not be willing to do. I thought the whole thing was a little underhanded in a way, deluding him until after the match about the artifice they had just done on him. Unintentional, to be sure, but in my eyes the effect was a bit like making fun of the man. He's a good sport to let it go and join in the narrative that they want to tell, even though it doesn't necessarily comport with his own perspective.
