As a Kiwi in Aussie it's hard to believe how racist NZ has become. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and race wasn't a thing. Our school had Pakehas, Maoris and Islanders and a kid from Bahrain. And someone might make a police complaint about Rawiri Waititi's public statements. At interview yesterday he said things including "Māori are entitled to participate" (in illegal strike action from their employment in order deliberately to impede traffic), and "For far too long we've allowed them to assume absolute sovereignty and governance over us, this needs to stop", and "we've gotta be brave enough and start to assert rangatiratanga". So he is encouraging Maori to believe they have a right to break laws, that NZ's laws don't or shouldn't apply to Maori and that Maori need only obey laws as decided by one or another rangatira. This is inciting law-breaking and it's sedition. Crimes against the Sovereign and the State come under such titles as Treason which in our Crimes Act is punishable by imprisonment up to 14 years or life depending on the exact behaviour.

I am a 5th generation kiwi, and married for the past 27 years to the most strongest beautiful pacific island women that i have ever meet, my rock, my love, but unfortunately i and no longer proud to be kiwi due to this discourse that is been spread around New Zealand, i am a firm believer that everyone should know who they are and where they come from and be proud of that, knowing your family history should give you a sense of satisfaction and direction in life, making you a better person to share your experiences with people whom are the better part of you, i struggle with people whom are 1/8+/- Maori who focus on that and forget about the rest of there makeup... it does not seem to give who you are a far hearing in life. Social media plays a huge part in that with people being sheep and comparing themselves to others- remember that comparison is the theft of joy. I am sick to death of people being victims when they are not, and they dont seem to have the abilities to view their surroundings in a positive light and focus on what can be done to make the world better for themselves and everyone around them, we all have to play our part and lead as and positive multicultural community, segregation will be the end of us. F$#k Australia looks good at present. Writen by a disgruntled but trying to be positive, not so proud anymore kiwi.

She is inciting violence. As I commented before, pretty sure that to incite violence especially in/on a public forum is illegal. A good portion of NZer's are of Maori descent even if they don't identify as being Maori or on the Maori electoral roll. So, this appears to be colour based, not heritage based?? It's racist at the end of the day and unacceptable behaviour. They don't speak for all Maori and maybe other Maori should tell them exactly that!!

You don't have to go overseas to find examples of genocide. Ngati Tama and Ngati Mutanga committed a deliberate and calculated genocide against the Moriori on Rekohu in the 1830s. The Crimes Act describes Waititi's comments as sedition or even treason. Section 74 onwards.... Waititi and his wife should both be charged. He swore an oath of allegiance to the King. He swore to uphold the principles of parliament. He was elected to represent the interests of his constituents. He has failed in every way and belongs in prison.

Lets hope sanity prevails otherwise its going to get ugly.

@tsa3b I Think most Kiwis are feed up with constantly Being told that their racist. Or white supremacists this is something that they put up with every single day you can't even have a decent conversation now without being called a racist As soon as someone says something that they don't agree with they are called racist People are upset I don't think it's because of co governments it's because Maori get funding for most things that other people aren't entitled to because of their race. And I know this is happening because I have Maori friends that have told me what They've been given.And I truly think most Maori don't know about this either. In fact some of my Maori friends were downright embarrassed by it.They don't support The Maori party. Because they think waititi is a radical racist And I agree. it's a shame that he is being allowed to carry on like this with radical racist views not only making Kiwis angry but Maori angry too.

I am sixty, my father from Cornish heritage, my mothers line traced back to the youngest son of Te Rauparaha... me and my sisters were raised to be New Zealanders, given an english and a maori second name, taught to be proud of our family history BUT not to let it define our futures.. I remember when I was about five.. my grandmothers great aunt visited us.. I was in awe , never before or since have I been in the presence of such quiet dignity and grace. She was small and beautiful with her wrinkled brown hands and aged face.. grey hair peeping out of her scarf tied beneath her moko'd chin. Regal with true mana. Her peaceful reserve has echoed through my life but not ever experienced since.

Your text is unusual and it doesn't really make sense. But I noticed you have alot of thumbs up for the comment.

Political theatre. Ranting against the nation state that pays her bills has gone too far. Need some rules to curtail this eg ensure the nation staters are educated as to what democracy is. This will allow the citizen to understand their role in society. This rant is not it. It is up to the majority of nzers to adopt this policy for all.

its hate speak. end of story. i have a multi cultural family. (maori children) and if they dared speak bad of their maori whanau id give them an earful.. and their maori whanau heard bad words of me or my family they would give them an earful. THAT it how it should be. i come from a time where we came together - this new hate speak is disgusting!

thing is. it would be very damaging for the kids being grown up today.. (the ones from multi-cultural backgrounds) this is a terrible education for them! they are learning this from 'somewhere' (not usually multi-cultural homes).. you know what i mean? there is a generation being taught a one way hatred movement. (im genX) and we were not taught this. - we were taught to integrate. (love thy neighbor - so to speak) . my partner was dame whina coopers nephew.. (he has since passed) but would be disgusted with this. he hated 'white hate' speak - and yes, we do see this from time to time - less and less these days. but this is (today) is more than just "revenge speak" (now you know how we all feel/felt) and is definitely moved into hate speak territory. (not helpful at all) reminds me a bit of reading scots clan heritage - where a grudge could fester for several generations before rearing its head into mini warfare..

Many non Maori and non Pakeha pay for the government and the benefits that are available for everyone.. 🤔 This is like taking the hand that feeds you, biting it, and using it to punch your own face.. 🤔

My partner and I have lived here for 11 years. We have served the public both being drs for the entirety of that time. I loved nz when I came here. The last 5 years have been catastrophic for nz and we are leaving in 18 months. I can’t live in a country where you are defined by the colour of your skin or your ethnicity. I no longer fit in and I’m tired of being told I’m part of the problem when we serve daily. Shame.

Please do not leave I am a 4 th generation New Zealander I do not apologise for my very white skin did joy choose whereI was born or my family. I did not choose my ancestors or the decisions they made. But I am proud of my country. My family is multiracial and I am proud of that. This is just history and we will live through it and hopefully come out the better for it. I would also point out that we are still a very young country but we all have a lot to offer all of us Maori Pakeha my Hungarian nephew in law my Columbian born nephew in law Fijian niece in law my English born Chinese niece in law my Maori brother in law my Dutch born nephew in law and all of their wonderful beautiful children and their extended family’s. This is the New Zealand I love

The NZ Army is tiny, and virtually impotent right now. And the management of weapons is taken very seriously. No single person could access them, there are multiple checks and balances in place.

This is shocking and quite frightening. When a commentator such as Michael Laws mentions civil war, then you know things are getting serious.
