Facts. You still on KZread 14 years later?

I'm from Wilmington and graduated from Laney. At the time it just felt normal, but as I look back, it's wild to think I played ball in the same gym, lifted weights in the same room, roamed the same halls, and even had some of the same coaches that Mike did.

I love how he's a grown man, but still refers to them as "Coach Smith" and "Coach Williams" versus calling them Dean or Roy. That shows respects.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT and is the reason I am a diehard Tar Heels fan. TAR HEELS 4 LIFE!!!!!

I'm a Duke fan but I miss MJ and Dean. Both are N.C. heros

UNC has arguably the 2 best players to ever play their respected sport Jordan and Lawrence Taylor. Jordan is the GOAT and LT at worst is top 3 all time football.

UNC baby! See, these are some of the things Jordan should have touched on in his HOF speech.

Love that Jordan, like most UNC basketball fans, continues to "dislike dukies" is just funny hearing it from his lips, but all in all Duke has been the thorn in the side of UNC for quite some time & will continue to do so. However, I admit Coach K was a class act in advancing awareness & assisting in the now deceased Coach Smith's, advancement of Alzheimer's research as well as giving Coach Smith his last "award".. @jordan135 We know these things about him now. But, when he was playing if you were to ask the casual fan they would say Michael Jordan is a class act. Humble guy. The other greatest athlete of all time is who? Who else? Muhammad Ali. Probably the most famous sports personality ever. If you want to talk about confident, look no further. I was the biggest Michael Jordan fan, growing up, but when I started boxing in college, and started watching and reading everything about Ali, oh man.

Oh c'mon, barely. He only said "...what can I say about Coach Smith", or something along those lines. I love Carolina, and I love Jordan, but that whole deal left a lot to be desired. He spent more time needling Pat Riley about a trip to Hawaii and Jeff Van Gundy about his "con man" comments than he did praising Coach Smith. I know Jordan's had nothing but high praise for Coach Smith over the years, but this is a HOF speech! Elaborate! Tell a little known story...something.

@keeponseeking a) why would he say he copied magic but not say he copied michael jordan? i don't get what you're saying. b) michael jordan & kobe bryant were very different players. michael jordan was much quicker, more of a 1/2. kobe is more 2/3. c) you cannot simply "copy" a player's moves like he's a writer or a painter. if you could, everyone would be as great as kobe bryant.

Three years would've been four but Coach Smith called MJ into his office and basically told Michael that he had to leave. I heard MJ cried like a baby he wanted to come back for his senior year that's how much he loved Coach Smith and UNC my how times have changed!
