Not to mention outside of him, this might have been the worst roster ever assembled. They had a young and unproven Rip Hamilton and that was it. When Jordan hurt his knee in the middle of the year, the Wizards were firmly in the playoffs and had a 15-1 stretch when Hamilton was healthy alongside MJ. MJ was reaching peak form again putting up 30ppg in the month leading up to the injury. Incredible for someone his age.

Jordan technique is still better than anybody I have seen today. He may have lost a step or two in quickness and jump, but his footwork and pump fakes are beautiful! Jordan and Hakeem I would say are just well beyond technique-wise still today.

I would love to see a docu-series on MJ's Wizards era, his true last years. I think people forget what his motivation was for this last return. A team of pros that have become accustomed to losing and MJ not wanting that to be the environment or mindset for the team. He didn't comeback thinking a Championships was in reach(wasn't even in sight), he came back to instill a love for the game in these players and hopefully win a little in the process. Also Of course He wanted a shot at some of the new stars during that era too lol

Jordan was the first player in NBA History to hit 6/3 Pointers in a half in a Championship game. What's crazy is one person said Jordan couldn't shoot the 3 and the world ran with it even though he was one of the players to start the revolution of the 3 ball. No one dared to take that risk in a finals game, shooting 6, 3 balls but Jordan did. Jordan after hearing Clyde Drexler say that the difference between him and Jordan is that he shoots the 3. When confronted about the stat, Jordan replied "I simply chose not to shoot the 3" By that time it was too late, the words that came out of Clyde's mouth could not find it's way back from Jordan's ear. Jordan sat on that statement and let it simmer, by the time he was done that statement was fully cooked and served up as "Personal" Jordan gave Clyde 36 points in the first half of that game but Clyde was full and done by 4th 3 pointer. From that point on in the series Clyde never made a comment about him vs Jordan. In all honesty the series was over after the first game, they knew then what we all would find out in 5 more games, that Jordan and the Bulls had their first 2 peat!

@@user-fy8yh5wf4o some points to ponder. 1. Prior to Mike's stint as a Wizard, the team was dead last in defensive rating across the entire league. When Mike came, the team suddenly jumped and became one of the top 5 defensive teams in the league. 2. Prior to Mike's season ending injury, he was averaging 25ppg and the Wizards were in the Playoff picture. When he got injured, the team went 1-9 in their last 10 games, taking them out of the Playoff seeding. When that season ended, prime T-Mac averaged 27ppg, prime Kobe averaged 28ppg and prime Vince averaged 27ppg. Again, 38-year old Mike was averaging 25ppg before his season ending injury. All these while he was pushing into 40 years old, while playing with busted knees, ribs and fingers.
