--------
Michael Jai White gave an analysis of the boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua, explaining why Ngannou got knocked out. White said that Ngannou's inexperience showed and he began to block Joshua's blows more than he had done in previous fights, such as the one against Tyson Fury. The constant blocking was a clear sign to Joshua that he could land a straight, right punch. This defensive action consequently altered Ngannou's usual fighting posture, making him an easier target for Joshua and leading to his knockout. Although losing to Joshua, White believes a rematch with Tyson Fury for Ngannou isn't off the table. He also hinted that Joshua could potentially beat Fury, as Joshua's strengths and advantages could pose a new threat to Fury.

    Obviously, Jai was explaining, the technical aspects of the fight, everyone who knows anything even remotely abt fights could see it coming, he was wide open, I was waiting on the knockout the moment I saw Francis straighten his arm.. Joshua is a monster, fk around and you find out, Ngannu found out.

    One thing that White did not mention is that when Ngannou went southpaw, it allowed AJ to get his right hand in line with Ngannou's face. Usually in an orthodox stance, AJ would be lining up his lead foot to Ngannou's back foot. However, as soon as Ngannou went southpaw, all AJ had to do was put his lead foot slightly to the left so it was outside of Ngannou's lead foot. This made his right hand right in line with Ngannou's face.

    @Hello, What really beat him is getting too confident after fighting Fury. He thought fighting any boxer would be easy. Fury only uses his size to win fights. Francis was big and skilled enough at grappling for Fury's size to effect him like it would most boxers. That's why Francis felt comfortable enough to go southpaw.. AJ is skilled though. He doesn't need size for a offensive. That's what Francis didn't understand. He paid the price for it too. Hopefully he'll actually work on his skills and fight some more fights before he tries a top tier heavyweight again. I think he can get it done with practice

    It appeared to me that Francis had expected it to go like many boxing matches do where the first round or two sometimes more they are really just getting a feel for the distance and the timing, and Anthony Joshua looks like he expected that from Francis and said no sir we are on 100 after the first minute......80% of the boxing we see the hardest strikes don't land usually until the third or fourth round so I think Francis was expecting that......... This does not mean I think he was ever going to win......AJ was always a terrible matchup for Francis being a similar size but a bit leaner and faster compared to Tyson fury..... Francis was always going to lose this fight but I did not expect it that fast😅

    When your vibration is high you can perform better whatever you are doing when it is low you perform worse, when they say you are in the zone it means your vibration is high, this is because we are all at the subatomic level atoms which are energy which vibrate. We use phrases like ‘we are buzzing’ to describe when we feel good (high) and ‘down in the dumps’ when we feel bad (low). Ngannou was for some reason down in AJ fight (could have been arguing with his girlfriend) who knows but something affected him negatively and in the Fury fight he was less tense more relaxed ( less negative) so therefore in a better place. I’ve never been a massive AJ fanboy, but neither have I ever rated a Fury, who’s career came on the back of wins over an old champ and a one wild-punch wonder, with poor feet. That said… they’re big guys at the pinnacle of this generations HW division. There’s fractions between all the top 10 ranked pugilists. AJ with his revitalised hunger, confidence… or dare I say anger and ambition towards an eventual bout with Fury, is an opportunistic beast Luke will struggle with. Regardless of money or opportunity, I think Fury dodges that fight.

Francis looked like he was tenderizing a steak with his parries. He's also right about the fury fight , He felt the power of fury and was willing to take one to give one which is where his success came from , You can't do that with Joshua because the one you try to take to give one back will have you seeing stars.

    We have become stupid as a society, people actually think exhibition matches are legitimate. Lyle Alzado had a match with Muhammad Ali, if it happened today, people would be saying Lyle Alzado is a heavyweight champion caliber of boxer because he started going too hard in an exhibition match until Ali was like “ok dude, if this is what you wanna do…” (wap, wap, bap, wap, wap). Just to show Alzado what he was capable of. People realized it was an exhibition match. Nowadays, people actually think Paul brothers are legitimate boxers. Compared to people with no training, sure, they look ok, but they are not legitimate boxers in terms of fighting for a belt.

    Michael is an EXPERT and we all know that but he’s being VERY generous to his boy Francis. One of the first things a good boxing coach will tell you is to NEVER try and lead with a left hook. If you forget, it won’t take long in sparring to learn that painful lesson. Tyson was out of shape and playing games and Joshua wasn’t. Simple as that. Joshua stood tall and cut the ring off. Francis jumped at every faint in the world. He had no business in that ring and people need to stop disrespecting boxers. And I’m a Muay Thai guy.

    I don't think the left hooks where the problem his timing was all over the place though , His ability to adjust was the issue. Watch the fight and see the first few left hooks from Ngannou land.....Not perfectly but they got there. Joshua then adjusts and changes his level height wise , Ngannou stops landing the left hooks and his whole game plan is done....

  • @dawillia88

    @dawillia88

    Ай бұрын

    @@Jasontvnd9 those are good points. I defer to Demetrious Mighty Mouse Johnson who gave the best analysis of this fight. Being a much shorter heavyweight requires remarkable skill. Frazier and Tyson didn’t simply decide to go inside; they knew how to do it. Once Francis realized he couldn’t mitigate that long, strong jab; he begin to look for a way to hurt him and I think he looked for the left. For my eye, I agree with you completely and fully….until Francis panicked and started trying to hit a home run with the left hook. But yea…the disrespect from boxers is real. Timing. Angles. Bottom line is that you have to worry about so much in MMA that the subtleties of boxing sort of phase out at the highest level. Still important…just not as important.
