Oh Yes that's when I really saw the magic of MJ..his videos were always short film..thriller is a damn masterpiece..41 years old and it's just like seeing it for the first time.

Michael opened so many doors for his community within music through his art proving that Black people can deliver the same, in this case significantly better quality in music videos/short films than their white contemporaries. RIP Michael

I saw a “hot take” that prince was “better” than MJ on Reddit. I think they’re not comparable, they had different goals and were both paragons. Prince’s film purple rain was panned, but it’s considered one of the greatest albums of all time. MJ made the thriller video and it’s iconic to this day.
