Fans of comedic acting legend Michael J. Fox were delighted to see him give a rare public appearance recently, appearing alongside his Back To The Future costar, Christopher Lloyd at the 2022 New York Comic Con. While the actor has continued to struggle with Parkinson’s Disease since being diagnosed at age 29, he still remains as optimistic and passionate as ever.

Fox and Lloyd reminisced at the Comic Con panel about their days of filming together, including was it was like for Lloyd to have to literally reshoot every scene he had done for 6 weeks after Fox was brought on to replace Eric Stoltz as the lead. They also discussed the recent passing of Fox’s mother, Phyllis. Fox revealed that she had just passed away and that she tried to convince him not to do Back To The Future in the first place. She apparently thought he’d be too tired from the rigorous schedule of filming Back To The Future at Night, and his sitcom Family Ties during the day.
Fortunately for all of us, he chose to ignore that one piece of advice from his mom. In this video, we’re taking a closer look at that Comic Con appearance, as well as some other recent press that Fox has done. That includes a video he released on Instagram recently that was cocreated with AARP, as well as an interview and a video he did in 2020 as he was releasing his book, No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality.
We talk about how despite the intense challenges that Fox has gone through, how he remains optimistic. And how that optimism fuels him to enjoy his life. I don't think MJF wants us to feel sad or bad for him. Sure it's a rough thing to see him go through this but he lived the dream, married his sweetheart Tracy and they have a wonderful life together. Any time I hear "At This Moment" by Billy Vera, I get choked up a little.

Such a talented man. More important is what an amazing human being he is. I've loved his acting since Family Ties and of course all of his Back to the Future movie's. "Painful" is exactly the right word. I became a fan during Family Ties, but BTTF was just an amazing performance by both him and Christopher Lloyd, which made it a classic. Like Christopher Reeves, he has been unbelievably selfless in his efforts and attitude. I admire him more than ever for this reason.
It's not just that he's a good actor but that he's a genuine person and has a likability that few in Hollywood exhibit .God bless you Michael J Fox?

I loved The Frighteners and have watched it maybe a dozen times. He has a beautiful family, a list of great movies, and the satisfaction of working to possibly make life easier for others. No wonder he has such a great attitude.

A favourite of mine as well, much underrated.
I hope we get to see Mr. Fox on screen again... sometimes you don't realize how much you miss someone.
This topic hits close to home from me because my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's about a year ago. It's terrible to watch her suffer mentally and physically and I hope maybe one day there will be a cure. God bless Michael and all the money he raised for Parkinson's. I liked him a lot in the "Secret of my success" 🙏🙏🙏
I absolutely love his attitude! I had a traumatic brain injury 8 years ago that has changed my life and I have learned other things about myself I did not know before that have helped me see things through a brighter light. I did like Fox in Family Ties but I loved him and Lloyd in Back To The Future! I loved the ending of Back To The Future 2 because it really set up how Back To The Future 3 would turn out. Even though I have watched all 3 of the series, there is no question that I will watch them again! Yes, it is a classic!

@@FactsVerse probably Homeward Bound 2 Lost In San Francisco he was the voice of the American bulldog chance I loved him in that role even though he was the voice of a dog 🐶 but it was cool Lol 😂
Lloyd is a great, comedic actor. From the Taxi episodes especially when he is taking a driving license written exam and he asks what does a yellow light mean and when he's told, slow down, he asks again but more slowly, and does this over and over again. His role on the Back to the Future movies were also great so it's hard to pick one thing. Fox is easier. His Family Ties role was great but the Back to the Future series was his best overall.

Yes! That Taxi episode with the driver's license test was priceless! Thanks for reminding me. I read that he was originally just supposed to do the one episode, a wacky preacher called in to marry someone (Latke perhaps?), but the audience liked him so much that he was brought back as a regular cast member.

My grandfather had Parkinson's and I took care of him for years before he passed away and I can say unequivocally it is NOT a gift. One more thing, it is very difficult for me to watch Michæl slowly pass away from the disease. For me it is like living my grandfather's Parkinson's disease over again.

@@FactsVerse I honestly like all his roles. But in particular would have to be 'back to the future.' I have all the movies and couldn't tell you how many times I have watched. (With kids and by myself.) I love his respect and devotion to his wife. Family first. A bit like family ties. The frightners was good too, but MJF could take on any role and just own it. He is a wonderful actor, devoted husband and father with a good heart (Rare) An absolute pleasure to watch.

Robin Williams was diagnosed with Parkinson's and took his own life. Robin was my favorite actor and I still watch his movies. Michael j. Fox is also a favorite of mine.
Ole Fox definitely an American treasure. Every time I see him I go back in time to my childhood.
Michael has faced his reality with incredible bravery and strength. He will always be a much loved and respected actor and advocate for Parkinson disease.

@@FactsVerse like most fans, I started loving Michael’s acting going back to his role as Alex Keaton on Family Ties. Then of course, my whole family joined in as we watched Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown kill it together in all the Back to the Future movies! 🥰. His role as Mike the assistant Mayor on Spin City was great comedy as well. My husband and I watched it together as empty nesters. Now, with kids on their own, and my husband passed on, I watch reruns and watch Stuart Little movies 🍿. My admiration has indeed been lifelong!❣️❣️

I love the fact that he is still married. In spite of everything Michael and his wife continue to take everything in their stride.
I remember back in Summer 1999, when my sister and I heard the news he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. We were both in tears. i was huge fan of Michael, my teen idol crush at 15. I never missed an episode of Family Ties. I like Michael the best as Alex P. Keaton , Marty McFly, and Michael Flaherty (Spin City). As for Christooher Lloyd, l love him in Taxi.

I absolutely hate seeing Michael J. Fox this far along in his battle w/ Parkinson's. I lost my dad to Parkinson's, so I've seen this before. It's a hell of a lot worse than simply "shaking". It's a cold hell that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy...

Both Lloyd and Fox high achievers in show busines and beyond. I admire Michael's contribution to help others with his ability to withstand and go forward. A lot more courageous than most of us. On another note he's always been a cutie-very handsome.
He will always be "Chance" from homeward bound for me.

@@FactsVerse My late Father had Parkinsons from 1996-2001 and sadly it took my Father from us. My Mother said he gave a couple of gasps and that was it. Horrible disease,I'm so pleased that Michael is still with us,bless his heart
WOW! Only 29 when he was diagnosed! That's young! I'm glad he's still hanging on!

My sister was diagnosed in 2012 age 61 and died 2021 just after turning 70. Michael has lived a long time with this disease.
I think we just wish he'd just fade away unseen.

Favorite Roll by both has to be Back To The Future hands down. These movie I just hold near and dear to my heart, when my dad first introduced Back To The Future to me when it first came out I feel in love with it. Its was a bond me and my father loved doing sit down and watch some BTTF Movies. The first one was the best of course but didn't take away from the rest of them, we still enjoyed them the same. I got the whole collection of BBTTF on DVD and had them for years. I still watch them today, it's kind of became part of my life and a bond between me and my old man. for that I thank Christopher and Michael & the Directors/Producers for the tool to help me bond with him like that, it is what I consider some the best time of my childhood.
Michael, we miss you in films, but you have a new mission now - your Foundation. God bless you and your family.

I first saw him in the movie " Class of1984 " with Timothy Van Pattern. Two great actors.......

@@FactsVerse I have always enjoyed everything he's done as an actor. I believe he's one of the finest we've ever had on tv or screen!! I had a big crush on him in the '80's!! I still think he's adorable!! I want to thank Michael for all he's done for his fans!! 💞💕
A real shame, though the fact that he keeps on keeping on says so much of him as a person. I dont know if I would be that strong to not only persevere but to continue doing what I love. That to me is more alpha than most. Great scott Marty!! ✌✌❤❤
