After watching this, I forgot how many times Irvin would catch that deep comeback route, shake the defender that was draped all over his back, and then run for another 10-15 yards or more. He was a master at using his body to shield off the coverage. Cowboys need another guy like Irvin who could both brag AND back it up with his play.

I came to this video to see how 88 would get off press man coverage. He just ran right off because he was too strong for the corners. Today’s WRs have to do all these jab steps to get off the line. That’s what we see Deion and Chad Johnson always joking about who could do better against each other. But Michael, Megatron, and Sterling Sharpe didn’t even entertain the thought of being pressed! Deion could even do that with Jerry, 88 wasn’t having it!

@randycrocker59082 жыл бұрын
The playmaker, saw a interview with Aikman, he said Irvin would come back to the huddle after a play he was double covered on and say, Troy why didn't you throw me the ball, I was open. He said one thing was sure, Michael felt it was his ball and he was going to get it, not the defender. When the team needed a play, Irvin would say throw me the ball, I'll make the play. He did just that time after time, after time. It was his ball... 88 he and Drew Pearson made that number in Dallas great , thank you both, gentlemen .....

There's just something magical about that name Michael in entertainment and sport isn't it? Let's take a look. First you got Michael Jackson with an unprecedented 10 grammy awards, could be more. Then you got Michael Jordan with his 6 nba championships and last but not least Michael Irvin with 3 super bowl championships. Irvin really personified the personality of the cowboys in the 90's. I mean this guy had it, the will to win!

You forgot F1 driver Michael Schumacher! Dez had equal talent but not 1% of the work ethic, the leadership or the team orientated mindset that Irv had. Irvin was all about the team and all about winning no matter what. When the run game was key to win, Irvin said 'give Emmitt the ball, I block for him'. All these wr divas like Dez and Odell are so full of themselves they become distractions for their teams.

Darrell Green's coverage ability was EXTREMELY poor & overrated & he don't belong in the Pro Football Hall of Fame over such elite shutdown coverage cornerbacks like Lester Hayes, the late great Dave Brown, Louis Wright, Frank Minnifield, Hanford Dixon, Everson Walls, Lamar Parrish, Ken Riley, Eric Allen, & Sam Madison. The only reason why he is the Hall of Fame is because he was supremely fast for 20 years & he ran down Tony Dorsett, Eric Dickerson, & Rocket Ismail on 60+ yard runs & catches & prevented an 80+ yard touchdown oh & he won the NFL's Fastest Man competition 4x but again I say being able to run a 4.2 or 4.3 40 yard dash shouldn't take away from the fact he was a pedestrian ass cover cornerback & has ABSOLUTELY no business being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame especially over the cornerbacks I previously mentioned.

The man was great ,had heart, had desire and if he could reach it he caught it, he felt it was the offenses ball so the defense can't have it , period Mr. HOOD that's why he has these and more highlights. And he was a tough SO-GUN, .....

He’s a bad man. I used to love watching him play ❤❤
Aikman could have gone out there drunk and thrown George Foreman's grill down field and Michael Irvin would have caught it.

Good comment lol. In my opinion it seems like Dallas had a potent passing game.
88 Irvin was dominate...he had great success against every top rated DB of that era did not matter who covered him...D. Sanders, E Allen, A. Williams, C. Woodson, D. Green...w/o a doubt one of the GOAT's
The PLAYMAKER!..

The most fitting nickname for a receiver. CD Lamb could be the PlayMaker 2.0
love the fact that you put Rocket Queen and Locomotive as the songs
Dallas has some pretty good receivers right now....but none of them have the heart and fire that Irvin brought to the game. He would not be denied.
Irvin talked a lot of trash, but he certainly backed it up. Irvin was clutch
GREAT NFL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS OF MICHAEL IRVIN IN DALLAS COWBOYS !!!

Don’t forget about Dez.
Dude, favorite GNR track and fave receiver! I salute you, sir
September, 2022. Jerry is still Jerry doing things Jerry’s way. We’ll never see the likes of this again in Dallas as long as Jerry is Jerry. Some people would rather lose THEIR WAY than win somebody else’s (Jimmy Johnson) way.
Dallas needs the passion that Michael had. Most of them now on the side line do not look interested with what's going on in the game. Including the coach.
One of my all time favourite players.
Irvin was a man among boys…those DBs were like children to him….he was too big too strong for them
11:32 was nothing less then amazing
It’s always a trip to see the Boys play on the road and the home stadium go nuts when they score lmaooo DC4L 12:21

From wikipedia: He has a joint-record seven World Drivers' Championship titles and, at the time of his retirement from the sport in 2012, he held the records for the most wins (91), pole positions (68) and podium finishes (155)-which have since been broken by Lewis Hamilton-while he maintains the records for the most fastest laps (77) and the most races won in a single season (with Sebastian Vettel) (13), among others.

MIchael Irvin might be my favorite player of all time. It's hard to choose, but I don't know how you hate on this guy. Did he ever receive an "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalty? I never saw it.
During his career, I always wished I was a cowboys fan. The play maker was awesome. I still say he's the second greatest receiver I've ever seen. Even better than Moss.

I'm a diehard raiders fan but Irvin was my guy
His Rookie footage. We don't see that anywhere. Nice! He had some great plays against Washington
Aikman is a bad ass
There were two plays against the *Steelers* where Irvin caught the ball and two defenders collided with each other allowing Irvin to run to the endzone, while Rod Woodson ran Irvin down, but was too late to catch him before he got in.
MICHAEL IRVIN IS A LOUDMOUTH, MISUNDERSTOOD, AND BLASTED SOMEWHAT AMAZING NOT ME
The playmaker perittttttttttt......
Let's be honest, Michael Irvin was the first black superhero.

What a player
Watching this after seeing the deeper your will speech!
Man was godly
Sick song
The only team who matched up with the Cowboys in the early 90s was the 9ers. Every time they played in the championship game. The game was better than the Super Bowl
I seriously think he us the best of all time WR to ever play.

There’s no doubt ever that Michael Irvin was great... But dez Bryant had some of the greatest catches I’ve ever seen NO ONE goes up and gets it like Dez Bryant. There’s a reason he left the cowboys the leader in TD receptions.

They say he wasn't fast but fast enough to get downfield
Hey Sir, My dad is Ricardo McDonald who played in the NFL for 10 years. I was wondering if you could make a highlight video for him! Thank you so much!
Feels like the 70s.

Rice, Moss, Irvin top 3
What did Michael do better? Slash Defences Slash necks ✂️

As well as the Marks Brothers (Clayton & Duper), James Lofton, John (JJ) Jefferson, Roy (Jetstream) Green, Andre (Bad Moon) Rison, Cris Carter, Herman Moore, Sterling Sharpe, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Irving Fryar, Isaac Bruce, & Torry Holt.

Irvin made Deion Sanders, Rod Woodson, Ronnie Lott, Dale Carter, Eric Allen, Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Aeneas Williams, and everyone else look silly.
I can say. I watched 90s football and it pretty much looks the same as today. Some how they fuk with the video to make it look shady lol
The only crimes T.O. and Ocho Cinco ever committed were trying to be like 88 and failing while trying to be like 88.
Wow! Can't believe they filmed with potatos and bananas in the past.
Irvin was on the phone ordering a ball and some female company for after the game.

Tony Romo started for Dallas 14 seasons, holds all of the Cowboys’ passing records, but when we talk about Cowboys’ quarterbacks he is always overshadowed by Aikman and Staubach. Romo was a great quarterback but he couldn’t get it done in the playoffs.
Great video!!! I made a similar video! Check it out!
Sorry but do y’all think Troy Aikman would have been as good as he was without Irvin? Dude threw some extremely questionable balls that Micheal still came down with. In today’s NFL those are easy interceptions
