Ann Miller holds the record for most taps per minute for a female. She's clocked at 500 taps per minute. The record belongs to Roy Castle, clocked at 1,400 taps per minute in 1973.

Michael Flatley created something very special and unique. HE was the one, who made Irish Tap Dance known to the world. I still love to see him, even if he stopped to dance. We all should not forget, that dancing took its toll on his body. He suffered various injuries and still stood on the stage for our enjoyment. That he stepped back and is only working as a choreographer now, is very okay and he should enjoy his retirement. Love from Germany

Odd they were having Irish festivals in Kansas City, Missouri way before anyone knew who Michael Flately was. Every year they have always had a lot of great dancers of all ages. Do they not have Irish festivals everywhere else? I don't understand how people would not have ever seen Irish dancing until Michael Flatley got popular. Plus we have a huge Saint Patrick's Day parade every year in Kansas City Missouri with a lot of Irish dancers.

This always gives me Goosebumps. Michael Flatley IS The Lord of The Dance. Michael made everyone LOVE Irish Dancing all across the World.

The Fred Astaire of Celtic dance, but its not a one man show. The entire ensemble in each production is magnificent.

2024 and I'm still watching. He's still the best I've ever seen. Love the whole troup!

What makes Michael's shows so truly amazing is the fact that all those dancers make the sound of one dancer, showing their true unison in the dance. Exceptionally perfect!!!!!!

Wow, this man is AMAZING!! Whoever thought Michael Jackson could dance obviously never saw Michael Flatley dance. Michael, if alive today, could not put a pimple on Flatley's tush!

His talent, personality and showmanship is forever unmatched. I never tire from watching him.

Saw Michael live when I was 22. I'm now 64 and have never forgotten the magic of that night. There never was, and never will be, anyone quite like him!

I took my beloved mother in law to see Lord of the Dance in Cincinnati Ohio. It was wonderful and she never forgot it!

Michael Flatley is an incredible dancer! I wish I would have seen his live shows. I'm happy I can see his performances here on KZread. 😊

Loved him then, Love him now! I'll always love him for himself, and for bringing this joyous, miraculous dance to American and the world!

The first thing I thought of when this video started playing is that his knees and feet must be so painful today. He's an incredible dancer and his troupe is wonderful, but what a price to pay.

Irish dance began to appear in my recommendations a few days ago. Very sincerely, this man IS Lord of The Dance. Massively so.

I remember the first time i saw Michael Flatley dance. My immediate reaction was, here is a man who loves what he does. He loves dancing and he loves his audience.

I was a PE teacher and showed Lord of the Dance to my students.

Watched flatley with my grand children, now I'm 80 years-old, and I still love his style and dance he's the best, sad to hear about his illness 😢 Zohra Mahomed, Cape Town, South Africa

He is one in a zillion that happens once in a lifetime. No-one can match his skill yet.

I saw him live, AMAZING! I think it was the best live show I've ever seen!

Sadly we might not seem him dance in shows again. But we can watch his phenomenal work immortalized on physical media and here on KZread. There will never be another performer like him on stage again, he set the bar to untouchable heights.

--- OMG! I'm a tapper & this is AWESOME. Never got as good as Michael but I KNOW the effort, dedication & perseverence involved in such a high level of dance performance. He really contributed to opening up the Irish dance to the world. Absolutely phenomenal!!!

The best dancer ever. He set the bar. No one comparable! His creativity and showmanship is unmatched. It is hard to watch other shows without him! He truly worked hard and brought us a great gift!

It's the other way around. Irish dancing was around hundreds of years before Jackson. He borrowed from them.

I went and saw this with my brother cause my mom had to give us her tickets because she couldn’t make it. We were both a 40 deep and decided to go drunk anyway. We are both laughing our asses off and in awe. Great time!

Michael and his team of dancers, with the lighting/ staging/ sound etc are the best of or out of this world! Always like it, since it first performance!

What an incredible performer. I normally don’t care for dance of any kind, just not my thing. But he has such energy it’s like watching a blazing guitar solo.

I saw him dance near the end of his career when he was in his forties. This is why we have to change retirement rules for Professional Dancers because NONE of them dance to the age of 65. The Candle the Burns Brightly, only Burns for Half as Long. Great Man, Great Troupe, Great Discipline, Great Dancer. Respects, RH

I do not know which I like more Irish chants or Irish dancing.Great shows.

My son is Autistic, I remember when he saw Michaels first show. He was 5 then, is 28 now. He does not say many words to this day, but has forever since never stopped trying to dance like Michael nor stopped listening to this music. I wanted to say Thank You Michael for bringing my son so much joy, and my to my family. We love you and your crew!

As a tap dancer, Michael flatley inspired me so much even though they are such different styles of dancing, he is such an inspiration. I grew up watching his Lord of the Dance on VHS and it is something that has stayed with me forever and will live in my heart forever ❤

He was one of the greatest performer I ever seen. He is one sexy guy!

If you close your eyes it never sounds like more than one person dancing. How can so many dancers move with universally perfect timing ?

Ireland is one of the most if not the most beautiful places the people are outstanding. But you do know he’s from the south side of Chicago and they used to have and may still have the largest Irish population outside of Dublin and it’s no big deal to go into Irish bar and find them sitting at the bar all talking in Gaelic which sounds beautiful even if they are just talking about work or their day doesn’t matter still beautiful just another beautiful thing from the Irish like their dance and music and poetry literature art they do it all and do it beautifully. GO IRISH
