Michael Davis performance on Paul Daniels Magic Show.

The best thing about this bit is imagining, just imagining, how many evenings Michael Davis spent alone in a garage juggling butter and letting it slap him on the face. Over. And over. And over.

He almost certainly used something of roughly the same size and weight considering that he does it just as well with a less gross object like the bread.

@@AberrantAberrant I can't imagine that. Nothing is going to have the grip and slip of butter. It melts the more he touches it, it sticks to his fingers, etc.

Very funny. Paul Daniels’s show was really good old fashioned entertainment. Thanks. 👍
I think this used to something called.. wait, wait. Oh! I remember! It's called talent!
I loved watching the Paul Daniels Magic Show as kid/teenager. It was essential viewing.
The smartest humor is always so dumb. Counts his fingers... I loved it

BRILLIANT SHOWMAN! GREAT JUGGLER! A super act!
Watching the Paul Daniels show as a kid was fucking awesome. Now he’s considered a figure of fun in the culture, but at the time he was such a highly regarded magician worldwide, it meant British TV viewers were treated weekly by visits from the best visiting variety acts from across the globe.

He was the highest paid entertainer on the BBC at one point, and his show was the number one for a long time, with good reason. He was an amazing talent and comedian, and I for one missed that show when it went off.
Best guest act I've ever seen
Brings back memories..
This was great!
A thousand thumbs up.
What a great comedy! I laugh out loud.

Brilliant
Really, Benedict Cumberbatch is a man of many talents!!
this is called a top level classical show.
I'm not a big fan of playing with food (that's an euphemism) but I really like the fact that in the end M. Davis actually initiate to put the butter on the presentator's face, but didn't. I've got the feeling that nowadays, transgression make us laugh, even if it often becomes irrespect. I really love the fact that this was only suggested - so we could all understand what he was about to do. And finally P. Daniel put himself the butter on his face, and it still was very funny, like "I don't want you to be alone on this, let me do this dumb thing too" which is absurd in a way, but way more pleasant to see. (This is obviously my opinion, you may have yours.)
what a great host
Can't wait until Ralph Fiennes plays this guy in a biopic

@Do Nut Stollen is a traditional German bread, filled with nuts and dried fruit, and coated in a sugar glaze. It is typically eaten in and around the Christmas season. Regardless what you think of my comment, it has very little to do with Stollen.

Never saw that show, but host seemed a good sport
I love Paul's entrances. They are so anti show biz. The cliche is that you race in after you are introduced. But after a pause... he just saunters in. He is GOLD
He’s great!
He reminds me of Dennis in it’s always sunny in Philadelphia
Finally I found Kyle Eschen's idol.
5:27 That " eeyyyyy " was such a present day reference before its time.
missed opportunity to make a joke about juggling the sharp objects after his hands were covered in butter :p
I laughed out loud ... I don't usually do that for jugglers !!
When entertainment was entertaining
this was funny :))))))
i love this man so much hahahhahaha😂😂 but he made one mistake...😅 at the beginning in the introduction he said: but a Comic says Things funny. right is but a comedian says Things funny😊
I love dead pan and he is the uncle of deadpan... hilarious

In other performances of this "food group" performance, Davis made a slightly off-colour joke about how he felt sorry for the (poor/hungry) jugglers in India. Some of his jokes in other performances were a bit more risque as they were aimed at a different audience, but he toned it down a bit for things like this and when he performed for the Queen.
0:45 did he state the comedian saying the way around?
5 years this year :(
There is no school like old school Billy boiii
For a REAL treat, look up Francis Brunn. Now THERE is some serious juggling talent.
12:16 LMAO the chicken
He did that axe joke nine years before the UK got the Trigger's broom joke.
Watch the David Letterman version. Very, very funny!
Just like chickens, that's an act that probably wouldn't fly today
I like watching shows that are old and made a while ago n I'm only 15

It's very important, it's very import, it's very import, it's very important 😂
the moment the ice cream ball hit his face it felt like a supervilliain origin scene on how he got his costume

If they broadcast this today, they’d need a warning about consuming raw or uncooked meat.
