Club Pro Michael Block's crazy par save on the final hole in Round 4 of the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. In doing so, he earned his place at next year's PGA Championship.

Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men's game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy-which has been awarded to the winner since 1916-is inscribed with names such as McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, and Player. The 2023 PGA Championship is set to take place between May 18-21 at Oak Hill Country Club. The reigning champion is Justin Thomas.

I love how golf does the top so many get automatic bids next year. It makes so many special moments like this.
Absolutely clutch on this up and down. I mean the chip onto the green was perfect, in a need to have it situation to clinch a top 15. Literal ice water in the veins of Michael Block. Holy shit
What a story! The greatest final round for a club pro. An ace, a par save in the final hole to get to top 15 and an automatic invite for next year! No movie can make this up...crazy! Congrats to Michael. This will definitely change his life.

It's insane that he hit that spot with that chip. That is elite level skill and belief.
When he turned to quiet the crowd I had an instant flashback to Nicklaus doing the same thing for Isao Aoki on the final hole of the1980 US Open.

I know Arroyo Trabuco well and Mike Block is such a great story.
So there's hope for the rest of 40 somethings. Congrats, the most amazing thing in golf I have ever seen
and Rory knew (at least for the back nine) exactly what was at stake for his playing partner. he seemed to be as invested in this as Michael himself. he truly EARNED his 2024 PGA Championship invite (and the two sponsor-exemption invites) he got yesterday.

This is like what every good club players dreams about, just getting their shot and capitalizing on it...
Spent the whole day watching with my dad. We were having so much fun. We were yelling and cheering and giving high fives it was so good. First he makes the hole in one and we went nuts and then when he made the par save on 18 we did some more yelling. What a great day of golf this was. Couldn’t be happier for this guy. I wish him nothing but the best in his life. Btw he’s back next week. He got an exemption invite.
Michael Block inspired me to go to PGA of America school. Lives were changed today and it’s thanks to Michael Block and the sport of golf.

I absolutely love these moments watching golf on TV when you can hear the whirring white noise in the background, the deafening sound of silence from a group of thousands of people focused on one man, and Jim Nantz's voice setting the scene. The tension is incalculable. And oh so enthralling, emotional, and captivating.
This guy is so cool-it was awesome to watch this last week. Keep it going sir! What a neat story!

Just goes to show. Some don't get better until mid ways in life. I'm 45 and I am getting better as well. I never understood how to hit the ball. I could play golf. But, I couldn't take a divot until about 6 months ago. I've always chunked the 💩 out of it. But not a divot. And I was not consistent on my drives. I am consistent I the low 80s. I had one round of a 78. But, that is the best I've done. I am still trying and hope I make it one day.

@@pauljcross2289 I love brooks. He is an all time great. I was pulling for brooks during the masters and this week. However, I have never seen anything like this. This was a tearjerker. To understand his sick child was routing for his father, his hero, brought me to tears. It was the greatest hole in one of all time. I am so glad a middle class dude got the blessing. Brothers in Christ, God blessed this family and inspired people like me to continue grinding. God bless u, and all of us. God is great.

Man, this is why golf is different from other sports and why I love it so much. Huge congrats to Michael Block. Most of the time they can't keep it together on the last day and shoot 80 these club pros. For him to shoot 71 on the final day, must have felt like 65. Love it.

Such a humble man. He deserves everything.
If Michael Block would have shot 80 in the final round it wouldn’t have diminished his accomplishment one iota. The fact that he played that course in one over in the position he was in while playing with one of the best players on the planet is the stuff they make movies out of. He beat all but a few of the best over 4 rounds. That’s not a fluke. This boy can play!!
Greatest thing I have seen. So emotional after the round. Love how the fans were pulling for him. Big shout out to Rory too he was amazing as he was playing but totally supporting Block at the end and congratulations after.
This man is the definition of great things happen to great people, congrats Michael!

I was there,and have never seen such positive energy from thousands upon thousands of people for all competitors.I will never forget this experience as long as i live.
if something could come close to being as brilliant as that hole in one on 15, a crazy up and down for a top 15, on the 72nd hole, to get into PGA Championship next year, comes about as close as you can get (apart from holing the shot outright). CONGRATS, MUCH RESPECT! ENJOY! (and shoutout to Rory for being so cool and supportive)

Great to see Rory embrace the support flowing to Block,and appreciating his Ace as well as this save to qualify for next year.
What a tremendous feel good story. During his interview they cut to live shot of his home club. It was packed with people going crazy. He broke down.
Not sure that I’ve had this much fun watching this tournament since Daly at Crooked Stick.
Very humble guy while playing some of the best golf of his career. Love to see this.
The best part is that he looked like he soaked in every single ounce of it for all 4 rounds and it is much deserved
NEVER thought I would tear up watching someone come in 15th place in a golf tournament... but I did. Congrats Mr. Block on one of the great feel-good stories of the season!

❤ Michael is a reminder of what’s missing not only in professional golf, be it the PGA or LIV but in every professional sport with his authenticity, love of the game and the fun factor, not only for himself but for the fans. A real breath of fresh air that we were so fortunate to witness and remind us of why we really play the game because it’s not because of the $$$. My opinion of way LIV golf will never make it and the PGA better be careful to not follow with limited fields because diamonds in the rough will never get an opportunity to shine like it did in the past 4 days ❤
