Princess Botanical was actually hated and low-key bullied by other club kids, much like Angel. I remember on Motherboard around 2002, a bunch of Club Kids were were reminiscing about the 90s and their Geraldo appearances. One of them were like “Holy crap REMEMBER PRINCESS BOTANICAL!? What a tacky piece of crap she was??” which fed into a bunch of others chiming in on how she was “just a wannabe” “didn’t belong and shouldn’t have been allowed” was “too tacky” and “too fat”- which led into a story about a club kids fashion show where princess botanical took the runway wearing coffee cans as platforms and the coffee cans bent and collapsed and she fell face first in a pile of garlands and shame. “Total garbage- glad she didn’t stick around the scene too long” they said. Meanwhile- she seems hella sweet, shy, curious about new things and excited about getting to express herself creatively. I don’t get the hate I was reading. And really that just goes to show that the club kids were NOT really as lovely, cool and accepting of all and any freaks as they claimed. They could definitely be snooty and judgemental (SOME not all)

Every scene is like this and certainly is for the so called "elite!"... You have a group of outcasts, supposedly about being ones self and free expression, wherein reality said group is the most judgemental, catty and narrow-minded.. They are the exact mirror of what they rebel against!.. It's a part of human nature to pair of into cliques as humans, we're very tribal in nature!..I speak solely from what I've experienced and observed and aren't passing judgment, just stating the facts!.

I’ve had Party Monster on dvd since 2006. I randomly bought it when I saw Macaulay culkin on the cover and it’s in my top 10 fave movies of all time. WHO else loved this movie??! Seth Green is absolutely phenomenal in this! He’s unrecognizable and I think the only time you see his true acting chops.

SAME! Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green killed it in that movie! If you haven’t read James St. James’ memoir titled ‘Disco Bloodbath: A Fabulous but True Tale of Murder in Clubland’, I highly recommend it! (I believe the book was actually retitled ‘Party Monster’ after the movie was released in 2003)

Yesss!!! If you haven't seen the documentary "Glory Daze", that is another must see. I love that they actually got a lot of the top club kids, as adults, to reminisce about their time in the 90s and it also talks about Angel's murder, following Michael's release from prison. I often wonder if they ever thought about making another, since Michael's passing. Also, if you love Party Monster the movie, and haven't seen it, Party Monster The Shockumentary, is something you definitely have to watch. I actually found it, in its entirety, here on youtube. It's about an hour long and it is interesting. After seeing it, I now realize where a lot of scenes from the movie came from. I don't care what anyone says, I think Macaulay and Seth, nailed their roles! If you don't know, there are also little scenes in the movie that were taken right from the Shockumentary and have some of the real club kids. Ernie Glam and Richie Rich are the 2 that stand out the most off the top of my head. Anyway, you should check them out!

KIds are gullible , you buy crap everyday , because you think this is good for you , and you do not even blame the seller and publicists who use all the tricks in the box to sell it to you . Teenagers are the easiest people to influence , you can make them do anything you want as long as you make them believe this is in their best interest . Buy drugs, it's cool, buy drugs, people will love you and want to be with you, buy drugs or you'll be an outcast and will have no social life, try drugs and all your problems will go away , especially your teenage existentialist crisis , do drugs and you will be the talk of the town and the most popular person around . No Hugger , this is MOST CERTAINLY NOT a consensual agreement , this is one person influencing another one into doing something under false pretexts and made believe hopes . This is selling an illusion that will eventually destroy the life of the person using the drugs and make the one selling them only richer . Ask yourself the question, why do people buy something, that is an absolute poison for their system . Would go buy some rat poison and eat it ? LSD and heroin are worse than rat poison . So i am not buying one piece of the consensual agreement , argument . And you should know better than that yourself, unless you are a teenager . He sold something that he knows is going to fuck up the life of the people buying it , and yet had no scruples selling it and didn't feel bad for a second for what he was doing as long as he makes a buck out of it . I would call that the very definition of evil. This is exactly what rich nations do to third world nation on daily basis , and the third world nations buy it because they are told that this is in their best interest , in order to get a share of the big cake , when in the end, this is just the hand of the farmer feeding the animals until they are big enough to be taken to the slaughter house, Until the last minute the animal believes it is being taken care of and loves the farmer . This is exactly the same thing .

  • @morganolfursson2560

Most teenager live under a rock, and I do not blame anybody but the dealers . So called danger ? You make it sound as if the danger part of those drugs was unsubstantiated . How old are you Hugger ? Rat poison can make you euphoric if you take it in small quantity , that's why i chose that example . And tree hugger, do not give me a lecture on the medical use of drug , i am both an MD and a Vet and have been working for the UN treating people and animals for the past 15 years . So, tree hugger let's say that when you have three PhD in the medical field (the third one being neuroscience and biology, so you imagine easily how well aware i am of the effect of drugs on the system and their medical use) . then and only then, can you give me a lecture, because right now , you are not telling me anything i haven't studied already 20 years ago . "It's only when you start abusing drugs that things could go south, " yes i am also very well aware of that (is that your professional medical opinion ? And this is precisely why drugs administrated in a medical environment (hospital, clinic , home by actual docs, which are the only places and way drugs should be used) are so highly supervised , because of their addictive properties . What exactly do you mean by "that's fully on you" ? Also before we further this discussion , as i feel very awkward talking to a tree hugger , i would appreciate to know your name just the first name is enough and also your age and profession , just to figure out who i am discussing with. You understand of course . I am Kyllian , born in Arizona , raised mostly in Europe (borading school in Switzerland) , part Icelandic (father) part British (mother) , i gave up my american citizenship a long time ag. , As i said i'm a Vet and an MD though i mostly work as a vet today (at my partner and I's clinic) and for the WAP which is a branch of the UN based in London , I am 43 years old , living bith in Zurich Switzerland where our clinic is, and London , married to another vet, a japanese man, and father of three adopted teens . How about yourself ?

I googled club kids a few days ago after I saw a cool "my best club kid look" tiktok wondering what they were. Now I'm watching this video with a glamorous, mysterious, 90s nightlife kingpin - like a cult leader in many ways - surrounded by his loyal and equally glamorous club kids. At his peak he was probably one of the coolest people on the planet, a leader in the NYC nightlife, creating a movement, and leaving a mark on the fashion world forever. It's all so fascinating and compelling I've caught myself momentarily forgetting that he fell into addiction then brutally murdered his friend and dismembered the body. And here in this video is the kingpin, the victim, and the very 1994 Geraldo rushing through the audience member's answers as if he's being told each answer can only be 4 seconds long then he has to make a stupid underhanded joke at their expense then rush on to his next victim. What the fuck bro this is probably a top 5 all time video find for me. 90s daytime TV true crime fever dream eleganza, 5/5 stars. RIP Angel, my heart goes out to his family.

Every generation thinks they're the first to do everything wild, but its just a form of immaturity without it even being realised. Some may be a bit different, but basically its kids being kids in their ways during certain ages in life. Eventually, everyone grows up or changes and if they don't its often not a pretty sight to see or sad. Theres a reason people mature and become responsible and don't act like they're 18 to 21 forever.

He didn't deserve to die of course, but he insisted on being in that circle and used drugs to leverage his way in as a poser. Michael’s not just “hangin out” with an 11 year old kid. His mother lets him do drag and he happens to be inspired by the club kid era of drag. Desmond appeared on Michael and Ernie’s KZread show a couple of times and they just talked about fashion and inspiration. His mother was present the entire time. (I’m not saying Michael was right for murdering Angel, but that doesn’t make him a total creep pedophile who likes to hang out with kids. He’s simply just passing the fashion torch down.)

much like the club the guinness girls were a part of - “shining young people” or something. people who live in excess like that, lifestyles like that, are there for a reason. they have the right combination of charisma and narcissism to make any room THEIR room, any chair their throne, any audience charmed. unfortunately spontaneity like that requires constant combustion to stay alive which always leads to a huge mess in the end

Ugh wow seeing the cut of Angel at 3:11 gave me goosebumps. Michael and all these people could have done something amazing with their lives, could have became club kid elders and taught new generations about fashion and support for the lgbtq, Michael and his friends had so much potential and instead a life was lost and many other lives ruined. I wish these kids with special talents never have to feel so rejected from society that they start using heavy drugs like they did. It's such a sad story

A crime occurred. Angel lost his life. Michael went to prison. But not sure why that makes the club kids story less amazing. It's sad, but doesn't erase the years of inspired creativity that this movement brought into the world. Were you there? Does not sound like you were. Angel was a good guy and my downstairs neighbor but hard drugs like heroin don't just affect users. Sometimes they affect the people selling the heroin.

These people talk so much about how they do what they do because they want to be "themselves" and be in a place where they all can love and accept each other blah blah blah. But at the end of the day they are mostly awful people who hurt each other. Everything they were doing was solely for the purpose of getting attention. All the goofy outfits/makeup wasn't them expressing themselves. It was just an abrasive act to get attention. If people reacted positively to them, they won. If they reacted negatively to them, they still won because now they get to fight back and pretend they are champions of the LGBTQ community. At the end of the day, it was just a bunch of dumb boring people who wanted attention, so they did what they had to do to get it. All they needed was a reaction from the people around them, and you people gave it to them.

He was a great interviewer in the beginning. Geraldo would expose the government and botched police work. He spoke about serial killer Jeffery Dahmer and gave insider information about a white man who visited Dahmer on several occasions while he was actively killing Black men. He spoke about the Challenger accident and how the astronauts were left in the ocean for hours when they were probably ALIVE. This video seems silly but Michael Alig has been convicted of murder and has been released. Now Michael Alig has been seen with a child Desmond Is Amazing a little boy who decided to dress in trans style because his mother liked Ruepaul. The little boy Desmond has been seen in strip clubs taking off a little and getting paid by gay men. He imitated snorting ketamine and has acted confused on film. He told his mother that he was afraid of being murdered. It's sad actually. A little boy wanting attention by his MOTHER is now being paraded as a voice of transchildren.

No he did not deserve to be murdered , but only because i am against dead penalty . But i am completely for the Talion law . If angel had the axe or a gun he might have killed michael . Junkies get killed on a daily basis by their dealers when they can 't pay and it never makes first page , and nobody gives a fuck about it, so when the junkie kills the dealer i really don't see how this should be a tragedy . I am neither a junkie nor a dealer . Don't get me wrong i am not a saint either , i did use drugs recreatively when i was young and stupid and i can even indulge in a spliff every now and then if i feel like it on holiday (but it is grown locally by friends who run a vegan organic farm and wouldn't hurt a fly) . But i have three kids , 3 teens and they get approached by dealers and because they are smart they report it to me . And one day they got approached by a scumbag who dared putting his hand on one of my daughter (and i just mean putting his filthy hands on her shoulder ) so i went to see where this happened to see whom she was approached by . (just for the record i have over 20 years of Krav Maga and Boxing behind me plus 5 years of L.I.N.E) . I found the guy (i don't rely on the police for this kind of shit, they won't move a fucking finger unless someone gets shot or raped ), this pile of shit of a man didn't owe me anything and i didn't owe him anything , and yet when i was holding his neck in my hands to give him a good scare about never fucking getting close to my daughters or anybody around here ever again , it is only common sense and basic decency toward another living thing that stopped be from snapping his neck and do the fucking neighborhood a favor . If i had been high on E or C or K or whatever Michael was high on that day , i think i could have made carpaccio of a dealer with an axe . But at the end of the day the drug business at its roots is one of the dirtiest and most disgusting business (after the animal trade) and is responsible for the death and exploitation , abuse, extortion , corruption and intimidation of millions of people around the world (and i am talking about the kids and teen like mine, or elderly, in third world nations who are used and exploited against their will for this business and treated like absolute crap when they are not shot the second they rebel or threaten to leave) . So i have neither any form of respect for dealers in our so called developed societies nor for the users of those drugs . Personally whether angel killed michael or michael killed angel i couldn't fucking care less , but i am never fucking gonna believe that the loss of a fucking dealer is a (forgive the pun) big deal . He was a piece of shit when he was alive , he is still a piece of shit now that he rots . If anything , his death probably spared the life of other teens or kids who , thanks to it, were never approached by him . So no he didn't deserve to die, but i am glad he did. That's called karma .

Of course I traveled and met people from different lifestyles. Down south some people didn't like my New York accent and perceived me with a women of promescuity or what they may have seen on T.V. In California, some of the clubbers thought I was an undercover cop. I wouldn't know why. Germany was the only place I felt accepted by the neighborhood residents. The Americans were the ones who passed judgement. I have had associates who were supervisors, gay, prostitutes, nurses, and other various back grounds. I don't believe in judging people. From place to place, I had to constantly watch my back and ignore the ignorance but it hurt. I could not get into what the club kids get into but I can relate to some of their fears and angst and respect their right to do it. I was just a young girl trying to find a place in this world. I am 72 and I have one person I can call a very good friend. We have known each other for 56 years my other friends have passed. I think now, why do I worry about what people think of me? Is it worth it?

You could just admit you did it all for attention, because you knew deep down that you had no interesting qualities. The way you dressed and acted was all for any kind of attention you could get. If people reacted positively, you won. If they acted negatively, you could fight back and put yourself up on a pedestal as a champion of preaching love and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, getting even MORE attention. It was a win/win situation for you. Now that you're older and more self aware, I am sure you realize how painfully pathetic that was.

I used to weigh 310lbs+ now i weigh about 220, still very self conscious in public but when I recently went to the beach, I let the tiger print(stretch marks) shine and let people see who I am,the best part about looking at the flower, is watching it bloom into its beauty, yeah shitty quote but people always have their opinions anyway

@@Topdawggy I think it's good that you lost some weight for the better of your health. Be proud of who you are. Ignore the ignorant ones. What really matter is what you think of yourself. Keep on doing what works for you. I notice that all these people who wear a pile of makeup are trying to look like some model. They all look alike. Be your unique self. What matters is what is in your heart and soul.
