I love the 602

GREAT, simple to the-point comparison, THANK YOU! I find that two mics on the kick (for recording) is the ultimate solution if you have the channels. I use a 57 inside and a e602 outside, but am considering a D6 for the inside. Any thoughts about this configuration? I love how punchy the D6 is, but wondering if the low-end might be overkill?

U can always deal with too much low end with just a simple Low Shelf. I have never compared the D6 to 57 directly, but I would assume the 57 has more highs, so if that is what you are after with that inside mic, then I would guess that the 57 is just fine

Thank you for the demo, but I have to ask, didn't you switch the audio? On all the other videos I always liked the 902 better, for better lows and more punchy highs, and this is exactly the other way around

I did a video comparing bunch of Kick mics and the Shure 91 was my least favourite. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXeFzNttnNq9Z84.html It has nice high end, but the rest of the freq range is pretty useless, and it also bleeds from other parts of the drum kit 10 times more than any other mic. Both of theese Sennheiser mics already have a really nice high end at 3-8kHz, so that I don't think the 91 can add to that a lot. The Sennheisers are really scooped (And that is why I love them the most of any kick drum mics) so if you wanna add a second mic to go with them, 52 or even 57 for adding more midrange, and large diaphgram condenser or AKG 3600 for more Sub Bass

e902 sounds more modern to me. Both are excellent.

Both of them share the first place on my favourite Kick mic list. D6 comes next, but the difference between the second place holder is way bigger to the winner than the 2 Sennheisers compared to each other. I bought myself the 602 just for the price, and am the most happy to get either one of these on any gig ever. Thousand times more happy than getting something like a 52 🤮
