My first home game in his era. I'm so happy I was there. Saw him at Medstar that morning too.

His cheers and reactions to his teammates scoring are some of the most genuine and endearing moments. This man loves hockey so much. An amazing hockey player and hockey icon. Enjoy it, because one day we'll greatly miss those office goals.

Even being 15 minutes from CO Arena; seeing all of Ovis shifts [ for the most part ] and still yet; I forgwt sometimes he's the captain. These clips reminded me just how active on the bench he is. Its not because of the microphone, either. He is always engaged with everyone on that bench. I doubt they would show it but Ovi will chew a teammate out if they are out of line

This guy is a goal hawk. The greatest players make their team mates better. I watched Orr and Bird my whole life. Bird could have scored 35 points a night EVERY NIGHT, and Orr could have gone from defense man to center to score more goals. Instead, they sacrificed their personal stats to make their teammates better to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. Gretzky could have scored even more goals, but gave up the puck to have more than 250% more assists than goals; Mike Bossy (the best goal scorer in history in a shortened career) had almost as many assists as goals; Howe, same thing. All Ovechkin does is shoot first, which is why he only has one Stanley Cup. Gretzky had four; Orr had two (and could have had more if not for the selfish owners breaking the team up and his knees), and Bird won three championships in a tougher Eastern Conference (Celtics, Pistons, 76s, Bucks) than the Western Conference (LA, Rockets). Sure, a great goal scorer, not a great player.
