Yay! My hometown! Love Mi Tierra!!! A Texas treasure!
Mr. Cortez is also very kind and neighborly, always thanking those who tell. visitors where to find Mi Tierra, they've stopped by my job a couple times to say thank you and bring us cookies.
I first started going to Mi Tierra when I was a student at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos and the food has gotten nothing but better.
I have to say, for the amount of food they turn out, the quality is amazing. And consistent.
My grandmother had a produce stand around rhe corner. Our family has been eating there since day one. The Cortez family also owns La margarita. I remember going there when it was a small cafe owned by an Asian family. My dad who is now 84 would go to the upstairs living area of the cafe and listen to the Lone Ranger radio show with the owners kids .

Prior to Mi Tierra, it was the Toyo Cafe, owned by Frank Kakutaro Kuwamura a pre-war Japanese immigrant. Produce Row once had as many as 4 Japanese-owned restaurants in the 1930s-1940s, all of the restaurants serving simple Mexican/American food (not Japanese!).
My Pop used to drive there from Taylor, Tx at least once a month to visit Mi Tierra when I was old enough to remember around 4 years old. Im 72. When my kids were growing up i made it a point to go there and happened to get the same exact table my parents and us sat at when we went. A lot of loving memories there.

Dont go overboard buddy....it is good , but not the best
Love these episodes
I took my friend Stevie Wonder there at 2am years ago (probably around 1996) it was PACKED and no sneaking with him....PROBABLY 300 people stood up clapping and showing Love..only about 3 people came to ask for autographs...Will Love Steveland Morris till I die...a wonderful person! 😍😎
My family has been going to Mi Tierra since I was a kid. The restaurant is beautiful and festive! The service is always good!❤️
We have been there many times and we still want to go back...nothing like it..
How did I miss this place when I went to San Antonio twice? Even staying nearby. I could have walked. Well, the last time we travelled with my parents in law, who made us go to English style pub restaurants for most every meal. Next time, I’ll go by myself and explore places recommended by this channel.

If you travel in groups or with other people it can get extremely limiting. I travel alone and cover so much

Absolutely fantastic 👍
i have a tradition when i go to San Antonio of going to Mi Tierra for the cabrito.
The best place to go and eat Mexican food.
This was an amazing story of hardworking immigrants, Hats off. Unfortunately in Norway and Skandinavians countries we are facing a tremendous amount of " Illegal immigrants " From Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, Especially Eritreans and Somali. Not willing to work , Instead relaxing and relying on free housing and benefits. Just type " Malmoe riot" 3 weeks ago, Media will not talk about. Well done to these immigrants, Hard working class. Respecting laws and taxpayers🇳🇴🙋♂️🐺

Edie Bluntzer Market Square is not on a street, it occupies multiple city blocks. But it’s surrounded by I-35/I-10, Santa Rosa, Commerce, and Dolorosa Streets. Near the Children’s Hospital/Milam Park/UTSA downtown.
Love the story whos the lady. Grew up watching tcr don't like the new narrator I see him in the video why isn't he talking
Anyone who orders a chile relleno knows Mexican food. (2:43) She is way past ordering some goofy tacos. Question: Do you feel embarrassed when the musicians come to your table? What are you supposed to pay them? Question: Are you a fan of menudo or are you squeamish?
I hate Texas but I love all my Mexicans brothers and sisters especially I love Mexican food and I wanted to check out Mi Tierra.
Is the female voice narrating this a machine or just a very robotic woman?

Felipe Saucedo does that make any sense ? I visited once a local restaurant here in town and the cook was having an argument with owners , yelling and throwing the pots and pans all over the place but it was a one time thing and since then I’ve been there hundreds of times, go back most likely it won’t be the case again if indeed it was the case in the first place , don’t fogged by what you think you perceive when in reality it is not ... I’m from Cali and if I get a chance to visit San Antonio , you bet your bottom dollar I’m there .. I want try everything they got no matter what negative comment people say

Taco bell tacos😂 puffy tacos are true texmex
Overrated!!! It’s not that good people!!!!
For what I've seen is mexican food, period. Not tex-mex crap. Tamales, mole, etc. None of that was invented in that territory.

Tastes are subjective. What you dislike others crave. Been eating at this location since 1970. Lived in San Antonio since 1979. I love it.
Everthing is from prepackaged..to the chips and salsa..the store bought tortillas ...caned mole...taco shells...no no no no...sucks

Did you work there and can support this claim? I have been in the kitchen and have personally seen them cooking from scratch. They have a small army of staff who spend a lot of time trimming the meat for fajitas by hand.
