Yeah, most people use front facing camera only for video calling, and the picture quality during video calling is mediocre even on the highest end phone.

The thing that most stands out to me, besides the UDC, is the seemless uninterrupted design of the back glass and frame. It's just so god damn aesthetic and clean. I love it.

Xiaomi's Image Processing for that selfie camera seems great! It's very apparent since selfie video shown what that under-display camera actually sees.

That's one of the reasons people buy iPhone, these phones only have major upgrades every 3-4 years. You won't feel outdated because apple always implement technologies after everyone has already done it

Using my Mi9T Pro with a PopUpCamera and loving it so full screen, but the last year all modells of all major brands had some sort of notch or hole - so I stuck with the Mi9T because this whole seamless look is really important for me. Now finally the Mi Mix 4 ... This is where I'm getting interested again.

Hi there. Stumbled upon your review and I must say I really enjoyed the fact, that you sped up sequences, that are "the normal things a reviewer shows". You get to the parts that are interesting (my opinion mind you) and that is where you go into normal speed. Should be the future of KZread reviews. Most reviewers go through the specs at boring normal speed. I can always pause the vid to look at the specs and screen shots if I want to. The thing that gets me the most thinking ist the degredation of the battery, while being able to charge that fast. After all the phone does heat up...so that would be a faster battery killer than when charging at normal speeds. Does it really need that kind of speed for game apps?

The Mi Max 3 is such an amazing phone and is still my daily driver since 2018. I have poor wision and the Mi Max 3 is the best device I have ever used in that regard since the 2013 Nexus 7 tablet. Just the right size. Doesn't need to be a flagship or flagship killer. I really wish they produced a Mi Max 4.

Yes. I agree. People say popup cam is not long lasting but I am using Vivo Nex 3 5G for almost 2 years and the popup cam still works like brand new.

the ceramics back is very heavy, if they add a small screen, it gunna be too heavy, 11 ultra just use a normal glass back, very light, so it gonna be fine they a dd a screen on the back of 11 ultra

I'm still rocking the original MIX. I would change it gladly, but no phone can compete with it on looks and usability yet. It can lay flat on the table because the camera does not pertrude, the bottom bezel is a must for me to hold it confortably on portrait mode with one hand and the corners are sharper, cutting less corner screen.

Imo the mix would have looked better if it had more rounded corners, just like on the galaxy. The chin as well is quite less apparent on the galaxy because of that specific reason

The only thing that worries me about the popout camera was the moving parts. Coz as they say, moving parts doesn't last long. Overall, it is a great tradeoff if one has to go notch less/bezel less.

@@NewbieTetris Quite honestly, to me, the best thing would be to totally ditch the front camera. Get a mini screen on the back of the phone so you can see what you're shooting and just flip the phone if you need to shoot. Maybe have a physical button to shoot a photo and that's it. Higher quality pictures, no camera in the front so you get the whole display... no moving parts involved... easy.

Wow, crazy how good of a work Xiaomi did xith this under screen camera in comparison with Samsung's ! It's both way better in quality and better hidden. I would like to know if it's due to glass/plastic different properties (coefficients of reflexion/refraction etc...) or just the pixel shape ! Impressive device Xiaomi

I would say that curved display is some kind of disadvantage but no punch hole is a huge plus. Great review!

So excited for the MI 12 ultra, MI mix 4 is good, but not quite the flagship level that the 11u was, hopefully the cameras (the back too) is refined and used to its full potential in the 12u

I still love my mix 3 because of the sliding mech.. still working perfectly fine..

4:53, it does adaptively change refresh rate. It is on by default and cant be turned off. It is the second bullet point at the bottom of the screen.

@Lloyde Turner this is true to an extent. I have an mi 11 ultra, and just played around with the setting "show refresh rate" in developer options. The phone often switches between 120hz and 60hz. I do wish xiaomi had a better implementation of this for battery saving reasons. Because as it stands now, it draws at 60hz when there's minimal to no motion. And 120hz when theres really any motion at all. The one exception being when your typing, it is always at 60hz. Like while I typed this reply for instance. The tech specs for this phone advertise refresh rate changes dynamicly from 30, 60, 90, and 120. But that does not seem to be true as it only switches from 60 to 120. Edit: I it does switch to 90 as well in select seemingly pre programed locations. Such as the "app switcher".
