Josh did a stellar job. But I was drawn to the Violinist, WOW that was just Heaven on earth. She made that SING!

I have listened to this song for years without knowing the translation. And every time, I feel my soul ache and tears fall just listening to the way he captures the emotion with every note he sings and the orchestra plays. Thank you Josh, for reaching into my soul and making me feel again.

I hope you eventually looked up the translation because it's stunning. I speak some Italian because I sing a lot in that language. It's my favorite. One of the things I adore about this song is how he refers to her as "my friend" a couple of times, but at the musical climax of the song, which in the best written songs coincides with the lyrical climax, he says "I will miss you MY LOVE." Just chills. Stunning. ❤❤

I don't have a clue what he's singing but I cried terribly. The violinist was INCREDIBLE!!! I snuck behind stage to watch my grandson play once because his father (ex son-in-law) didn't want me to see him play the violin...a teacher got me behind the curtain, it was right where he was sitting. He just happened to look to the side and saw me, but held my finger up to my mouth as to say, shhhhh. I don't what he played, but he played with such feeling like the young lady in this song. I'm 65 and will NEVER forget that day. As he left the stage we both lipped & signed I love you as I put my hand over my heart. I left without seeing him to tell him how proud I was of his ability. But he knew & he was happy I was there, his only loving Grammy. His father never knew I was there. If he had, he would have hurt my grandson, but found out later, his father never knew. Don't ever let anyone hurt a child. I tried to get him, but they gave him back time & again. He's 18 now, very unsure of himself no matter what I tell him. He's so afraid to live & love life. Praying he will come be with me so I can free him from negativity & lies. Luckily we talk now, Thank u God! I'm going to ask him to learn this for me. May take some time but it will be worth the wait. I love you MORE Dom, Grammy

How does one describe...PERFECTION. The first time I heard this (earlier this year), I cried. I don't understand Italian. It moved my soul like nothing else has in my entire life. I know no one will believe me when I say, it was if I knew what note was going to be played next throughout the entire performance; yet, I had never heard it before. This happens to me with certain melodies and I have no idea why, nor can I explain just how it feels when it happens. I heard the English version and did not like it.... Again, why? How can one song be so very different to a person, to their soul? Josh Groban is a master. He's been so blessed yet deals with depression and anxiety, so they say. This I don't understand either. Unless its the pressures of fame at such a young age. People expecting perfection constantly. No one is perfect, but I pray he finds a way to find inner peace and comfort in knowing he is loved unconditionally by, at least, one fan.

Soul fragments? It’s hard to explain. We’re all made of stardust and energy is always shifting. It’s a part of you from some time ago. I can’t explain why this thing moves me to tears every time I hear it. The violin is my fav instrument and I can’t even play it. Track 10 - Reincarnation (Ghost in the Shell OST) gives me the same chills as this song, but in a different melody. Don’t understand the Japanese, I know it’s sad like this song, but beautiful because life is beautiful.

L. Bluebird, It sounds to me like you have a musical gift from the Lord. I am able to do exactly what you are doing about knowing where a song is going without ever hearing the song before and I have gifts from the Lord to play the piano and sing, Also, it is never too late to learn to play an instrument or to sing. Unfortunately depression and anxiety don't spare the young, simply because they are young. His depression and anxiety may be linked with what allows him to emote so deeply.

Italian is such a beautiful language... I love this song.
