You just can’t kill kelbi. It’s been like this in every monster hunter game so I assume they just decided to keep it like that.

No, you can do all that in the the appearance setting and armor pigment color change

Fun tip don't sharpen when a monster is in a rampage always wait till it gets tired or tries to attack your buddies.
