Shortly after this incident began, one news item declared that the plane had ascended to an altitude of around 45,000 feet, far above what is permitted by flight rules and likely to have caused hypoxia to all aboard except the pilots, whose breathing apparatus is equipped with far more oxygen to allow them to fly safely while trying to solve whatever problems might have caused decompression. Now, I followed the news, as this item intrigued me, insinuating as it did, that the pilots may have used this technique to render all aboard unconscious or dead. The news I read mentioned that the altitude change and the transponder/ACARS disablement occurred almost simultaneously. Since then, I have heard nothing about this. No one has commented on it, nor even attempted to debunk it. It's as if it never happened. If this did indeed occur, it speaks volumes about the pilots and casts doubt on all subsequent conclusions about what direction the plane flew, especially in light of another comment that was made suggesting that a competent pilot like the one flying the plane could have shadowed another airliner that was flying west towards India, allowing MH370 to mask itself against even military radar. Speculation has the flight heading towards Kazakhstan, but no publicly available evidence is forthcoming, so we are left in the dark. This whole affair also has some people suggesting very plausible hijack scenarios involving actions and knowledge of specific airplane types and functions, such that the plane could have been taken over with minimum fuss. Much of what unfortunately passes for speculation can be ridiculed, but is indicative of problems that could have been used to commandeer any aircraft. The kicker involves the employees of the software company aboard that stood to benefit from patents they had registered, but wouldn't if dead. Stinks and shines like a mackerel at midnight.

Exactly! This has been haunting me too and I find it completely unacceptable that the media go out with such pertinent information and not follow up or - if the information was erroneous - at least have the decency to correct themselves. There's altogether too much loose talk without coming a solution any closer. As you mention, the timing is essential: The change of course, switching off of the transponder and ACARS just at handover to a new tower and when the radar dead area was reached. It all screams to high heaven of planning and there are too many significant coincidences and contradictory statements for this to be explained away as an accident! One week the ML goverment states, that the first pilots private simulator had been defunct for over a year and would not be searched; the week after, that they have found a simulation like onto the actual event on his simulator! WTF?

its always good to record things as news break so you have proof they changed the narrative. I suspect its possible they had something on the plane that over rode the pilots control of the plane. I swear I heard or read somewhere that there were 2 chinese on the plane (not the 2 that they mention in videos seeking asylum) were involved with the US military and were spies for the Chinese Government). Funny all this time later I can find no mention of this. This is how they rewrite the narrative and then have google searches on any controversial subject only pull up the videos to brain wash all the perfect little consumer people that think they know everything on any subject more than some "loser" they dismiss.

If the transponder was turned off, how did the air force know it was a commercial jet on their radar?

  • @xlsyor

Early on, mention was made of mh370s sudden ascent to 45,000 feet, with a subsequent descent to much lower altitude. This maneuver has not been discussed, to my knowledge, at all until a few days ago in a random article I read. I neglected to record it, but I got the feeling it will be mentioned again, as it came up in the context of a discussion of a hijack. My understanding is that the ascent could have robbed passengers of breathable air, since the flight remained at that altitude for longer than the emergency oxygen was available. The pilots have a separate system providing oxygen for a longer period of time.

European aviation agency explained this really well. The quick changes of altidute were to avoid meeting other airplanes while on their path. This way there was no chance of collision, since it was a ghost plane. The captain was very smart not to get spotted and reach his target without anyone noticing.A really horrible act but incredibly well planned.Even the investigators were amazed...

Agreed. It is also absurd that a 777 can fly untracked after being seen on Malaysian military radar, no jets sent up to investigate, then allowed to fly for another 6 hours and disappear. They keep telling us it 'crashed at high speed with nobody flying it'. Where's the evidence? None. The flaperon found has damage consistent with dragging at speed across the surface of water, NO internal parts of the plane have washed up....only EXTERNAL, ie flaperon, engine cowlings etc. Where is the wreckage? Although the search was delayed in the first week because it was in the wrong place, some evidence would still have been able to be seen from the AIR like fuel/oil slicks, floating parts and wreckage. It appears to me the plane was soft landed and sunk mainly intact, who may have been at the controls is an unknown.

Yes, I believe there is some form of cover up. Somebody knows what happened to this plane and they may also know why it disappeared. I don't believe it went to Diego Garcia or that wreckage has been planted in the Indian Ocean, but there is something very not right about the official version of the events. If it was suicide I'm not convinced whoever did it would not just have ditched it in the Sth China Sea. Somebody who was that deranged would surely be unlikely to care if the wreckage was found or not, so why the Sth Indian Ocean if it was suicide?

Actually transponders are turned off as they are landing so it doesnt cluster radar and atc airspace..It can become a huge problem for clearly identifying an aircraft of you have planes in the same area and close to each other and on the ground or close to the ground like an airport .i would say the transponder should be linked to systems that require less than 200 feet and automatically shuts it down then ..

The point everybody misses, is that ACARS was never switched off. Had it been switched off there would have been no subsequent satellite handshakes. Failure of the CMU unit would produce the same characteristic loss of Transponder and ACARS without ACARS actually being turned off. This in fact proves there was a failure of the CMU, not the disabling of ACARS. It also disproves deliberate pilot malfeasance. The CMU formats 8-bit data from aircraft systems for transmission in TCIP streaming data format by ACARS & the Transponder. It is more likely pilots turned back with communications failure and then the CMU caught fire and caused sudden decompression.

papaburger 2 things do not add up... 1) The Malaysian Air Force tracked an unidentified plane heading towards Penang and did nothing? 2) For one week, while half the world was searching South China Sea for the missing plane, the Malaysian Air Force kept quiet? I think the Malaysian Air Force NEVER TRACKED the plane at all to begin with, they lack radar coverage in that area but is unwilling to admit it because it pertains to national security.... If I recall correctly, it was only after requesting radar information from the Thailand, Indonesia and only then, together that they are able to work out the flight path across Peninsular Malaysia towards Penang.

  • @Exoixx

Ricolla I'd agree that there's bound to be attempts to save face here, whether that's down to lack of radar coverage, incompetence on the night in question (or likely both) isn't known. As far as I know, nobody has publicly seen the actual radar playback - and even if they did see it, there's no 100% guarantee it was MH370 - that's just an assumption based on a process of elimination. Personally, I think they either did see it and no one was actually monitoring it (only discovered when they played it back) and therefore there was zero communication (keeping in mind MAS were using flight PREDICTION data and telling Vietnam it was in Cambodian airspace until they realised their f*ck up) & therefore no action was taken and now they are trying to cover up the fact their military weren't doing their jobs OR they didn't see it and don't want the world to know about their lack of radar capabilities. Personally, I think that's more likely than them knowing exactly where the plane is and deliberately covering up (given they can't organise a press conference, I doubt that level of cover up is something they could handle). I think, understandably, people don't like to think it's that easy to lose track of a plane, but combine the idea that nobody is paying attention, radar only covers so far and a desperate desire to save face in the glare of the world's spotlight (and being stubborn in those efforts even to this day) and I think it totally explains why we still have no idea where the plane went.. If I remember correctly, MAS stated the plane may have turned back on the 11th March & presumably they were pressured into that announcement as it happens to be the day Inmarsat's data showing the plane flying for hours and hours reached them - they couldn't keep their incompetence hidden any longer (even then they denied the plane kept flying for a few days until they were forced to admit it).

It's not that hard to work this out. It was hi-jacked and flown towards Diego Garcia who intercepted it and removed the threat. The wreckage was removed by the US military whilst all the suckers were searching the Southern Indian Ocean. That's why so few pieces have washed up. They won't admit it was shot down because of the universal outrage it would cause and permanent damage to the aviation industry. Blaming the Captain is just a cop-out, this is a cover up no doubt about it. As for Diego Garcia not seeing an unidentified potential threat flying 'stealth' over the Indian Ocean for 7 hours, that's not even remotely believable.

First uploaded March 7, 2014 on LiveLeaks shows a mass execution of what appears may be some passengers of an Airliner. March 7 in the States would be March 8th in Asia. One of the men about to be executed in the flim appears to be using a light blue "in flight" coutesy blanket; such blankets are commonly issued to passengers on board flights to keep them warm. This film may have been purposely mislabeled or discribed inaccuratly by the uploader to divert attention away from making a positive ID of the victims.

It is all about extreme wealth of knowledge that could not be allowed to reach Beijing. A great deal of knowledge is required, some going back to 1974. Everything that happened to that aircraft was designed and carried with great experience and skill remotely. It really is time that people woke up. The only question left now is WHO diverted this plane and crashed it into the SI Ocean?

Exoixx Possibly, the BB will tell us i should think. Problem with that is the speed of the fire, but who knows. What about an incendiary device? As you say, too early to speculate.

mcwolfus2 I suppose that would be assuming it was the fire itself that brought down the plane. But a fire affecting electronics bay could potentially mess with various controls that could have led to pilot error? Idk. It's all speculation.

here is something to just give thought to, i know china has a H.A.A.R.P. program, is it possible that they were testing it during this time? what if it knocked out all radio and radar on the plane and they were just flying to find somewhere to land..... just one of the many things that could have happen....

At 14:12... It states that MH370 flew south, deep into the Indian Ocean. How do we know that? I think this is the point where assumptions are being made based on faulty data.

How come nobody talks about the co-pilot? He is in the cockpit all this time. If the captain plan to take the plain down .why didn't he try to stop him? I’m sure when the captain turn the plane around. Co pilot should know. That is my question? Where is the co-pilot all this time?

Malaysia is a country that an airplane may miss in it, or airplanes with unknown owners may find in its airports. There are 6 million people living there without visa. Bribe is everywhere, even PM can be catch of it. Of course he is not only free now, but he's still PM. 11% of people there believe that the ISIS actions are legitimate. There the pilots can do anything they want.....

This has been investigated thoroughly. While those Iranian men were wrongfully attempting to claim refugee status in Europe via stolen passports, they had no background or affiliation of terrorism. They both obtained those passports from a passport theft ring run by an Iranian in Malaysia. Both passports were reported stolen and in an international database but of course no one looks that up, which shows a failure in airport security. They were not real refugees, as their life was not in danger in Malaysia.

This has to come to an end...full research and doubling up on the search to get back this aircraft..It is absurd that no one can stop a pilot from murder suicide ,the crew could have entered the flight cabin but have a small time frame to wait if they are locked out by the captain. It takes 5 minutes after an initial pin try ,apparently on a 777 to gain entry.I am trying to confirm this with a second opinion from another 777 pilot who has flown them ..

Many surveillance systems, radars, electronic systems must have tracked and listened over the sea between Malaysia and Cambodia Vietnam, where MH370 seems to have effectively vanished, burned up, and was replicated by some sort of drone, missile body drone or some other entity, seen or tracked going off Malaysia. If the Vietnamese civilian radar caught MH370 even briefly for a minute, if the IFF Transponder was turned off, if the plane still existed most military land and naval radars would still have held it on track. For 25 years Vietnam from 1979 to 2004 Vietnam had a military treaty, leasing Camh Rahn Bay for the Russian Navy and a huge Russian signals and electronic surveillance base which didn't close officially till 2004. Given the huge Purchase of Russian Naval new equipment, eg 6 new 3000 ton kilo subs, possibly the most advanced oceangoing diesel submarines on Earth, which Vietnam could only have afforded under huge unannounced terms, it should be assumed rather extraordinary surveillance capability would still exist here. While covering the Western entry to the Malacca straights, on a island offshore the long narrow southern extension of Burma, along the Thai coast is one of the most powerful offshore Chinese surveillance bases on Earth, Chins being a close ally of Burma and the Tawmador, Burma's Military cyber service.

I find it so lame that the Malaysian PM just announced that MH370 crashed at the Indian Ocean and declared passengers to all dead!! Hello! Why would a respectable person, a leader of a country would declare such thing without solid evidence? With all due respect to the Malaysian Prime Minister this is a stupid thing to declare in your position while the entire world was listening to you! Your way is not an easy way out for cover up Mr. Prime Minister!
