C'mon now, it's been 6 years. No way they accepted such a long marketing campaign that greatly damages Konami's reputation on top of that. It either never existed or it was planned at some early point of development but got scrapped , hence all the details and references that we can still find I was a believer myself until Death Stranding got released. Now, all we have left is the possibility of Sony acquiring the rights to Konami games, which should be taken whith a huge grain of salt

Its more likely Konami rushed out a shitty sequel to make light of Kojima's legacy and to take in some money after Kojima's project overspending. Sony buying Konami's IPs is a 4chan rumour from 2015 or something, Sony are funding two Silent Hill games; a re-make and a new game. I personally would like to see Konami license out their IPs to Sony Pictures for some films based on those games.

I highly doubt Kojima would go through the torture he received in 2015 after already feeling trapped creatively within the Metal Gear universe, create a successful new IP all his own with no creative limitations, and just throw it all away and go back to Konami and metal gear like nothing ever happened (or was even planned out in collaboration with Konami) as some sort of publicity stunt. Much less do I think Konami would so willingly agree to such a ridiculous PR nightmare where they take years of suffering only to come out at the end and say it was all planned like some soviet dictatorship.

The unfinished MGS V doesn’t match in here. Why should a publisher und a director harm themself and the fanbase so much, just to do this marketing stunt?

You know, it would have been cool if we played as Big Boss in MGSV and later we found out that we were actually Decoy Octopus. VENOM Snake was a mistake. At least we get to see Decoy Octopus in play.

He was voice actor in MGS V and played Ben Carson part in Alexandre Aja's movie Mirrors (looks like Silent Hill movie). Kojima and Sutherland working together again would be awsome news.

Pretty sure the reason the old Kojima Productions logo had its trademark renewed is because it contains the fox logo from mgs3. With mgs still being their IP, they technically own the logos, including the fox

I doubt Konami would play with their stock value for 5 years just for a publicity stunt. Businessmen and shareholders don't tolerate that kind of thing.

Sounds posible, but Konami did the same to IGARASHI (IGA) from Castlevania Series, (bad treatment) and he finishing crowdfunding to realese his IGAvania game “Bloodstained”.

From this whole situation, I've wondered this myself from the beginning. Why could Kojima keep his company name when forming a new company? IP law traditionally dictates you can't even in Japan. Konami is literally pulling a Capcom when they hated mega man after Inafune left for a whole year except for Konami it was most of their IPs they didn't make games for several years until recently they have been making collections of their franchises and of course Yu-Gi-Oh games yearly still. Is Konami coming back from the dead in a triumphant hurrah or was this planned from the beginning

While this is kinda off topic wanted to see if you guys had any thoughts on this- Back when the Death Stranding figures were being shown there were lot of shots of the figma Ludens prototype and next to it stood a tall, slender female looking cyborg type character. This fig was featured pretty commonly but then when the game drops this character was not featured whatsoever. Sup with that?

Damn i can't imagine what Kojima would do if he was back on the helm for the next MG series, you're getting my hopes up again Python.

This gave me goosebumps and excitement! I’ve been thinking when he left and all these little hints and thought “wow, what if maybe this is a bigger thing? What if somehow he’s going to make another or tease or it’s all just one big loop!?” That I would not be surprised but would die if it’s true! Thank you so much, watching this was amazing and I’m so grateful! Bloody awesome! Hahaha it’s something Kojima would do as one of his think outside the box!

I am a mathematician and economist and I seriously contacted some people working in M&A, who do brand valuations to get a feel for how much the MGS franchise is probably worth. Why? To do a kickstarter and buy it from Konami, then license it to talented studios (maybe Kojimas new studio?) for "no" licensing fee to finally get that MGS3 remake, a MGS4 remake with MGS5 Gameplay mechanics and of course a definitive version of MGS5. After theres room for the MGS 3 prequel featuring the young BOSS. I still think this would actually be i cool idea. But its pretty much hopeless to make this a success. I mean you cant just collect money from Kickstarters backers and then call Konami and ask to sell the franchise.

I think these likes and retweets were made because of desperation (because they lost Kojima and failed to make a metal gear game) Anyway, I'm hoping that the new Kojima Productions studio will get all the rights for the Metal Gear franchise It doesn't need to be a new game, just MGS1 and 2 in HD and maybe the very first games aswell (I only played MGSV and I can't play games with old graphics, especially these NES ones)

I for one look forward to a nine hour long MGS movie. It'll be like playing MGS4 again.

If Sony acquired the IP and brought Kojima back on MGS, first I'd want to see him finish MGS V. Then, I'd love to see the O.G. Big Boss building his Outer Heaven in Zanzibar land, ending with his fight with Solid Snake from the original Metal Gear. Bring it all back full circle.

Stretching there was far too much bad blood for this to be legit a plan. Sure may have come full circle but not in these circumstances.

I think David Hayter's work as naked snake and solid snake throughout is respectable, but in particular, the brief one done with kiefer sutherland is far superior

As much as a visionary my boy hideo is, I will not look blissful at death stranding and say it was a masterpiece. I think hideo is capable of producing way higher quality games than deathstranding as beautiful and artistic as it was. Whatever happens, pray for a fantastic game on it's own right and not another knot in this long-stringed reddit rumor conspiracy.

I don't know, I mean to have Metal Gear begin to go almost full multi-console with the release of the HD Collection way back when, only to revert to Sony exclusive at the most important grand finale of fiddle playing? If there's a plan, I reckon it's a plan that' only exists because when the time originally came, the ship had sailed passed the Verrazano Bridge

The purpose behind the Fox engine being marketed as a multi-platform engine is probably due to the fact that PES/EFootball is built using the Fox engine, as well as MGSV. Both were released on multiple platforms. Also, I would like to know your thoughts on Kojima striking a deal with Microsoft and working on an exclusive title on Xbox. That definitely served as a low blow to many Sony-Kojima fans. Edited: P.T. was supposed to be an exclusive on Playstation 4. I personally think it has nothing to do with the Fox engine, solely the title.

Not gonna happen, Konami knows that it's more money to license (let others make the game for a profit margin split per game & also a licencing fee so even if the game flops, Konami is financially going to profit ) than to sell (one lump sum, once ) anyone who has basic business intellectual would be know that

If this happens I hope zone of the enders is included as well but honestly Konami isn't doing anything with metal gear or any other game outside of pachinko and possibly mobile. They really should just sell it and keep the pachinko and current mobile. I know they could licensing it and such but they would also have the power to tank a game and I don't want to see that happen so they should sell it and never hear from Konami again because I and millions of people don't trust them.

No one would pull a stunt like this, not even Kojima. It would destroy his credibility. It would not only disrespect his fans, but also the former Konami employees who literally claimed to have been abused by corporate management.

It was the only way Kojima could make a break from MGS franchise... to make different games he dreamed of. I recently watched the video by DidYouKnowGaming, about unreleased games from Hideo.
