Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately there is no function to have multiple driver selection on the MG4.

It is the same across all MG4 as far as I know.

Auto door lock toggle switch is not available in the base spec model (SE in the UK), certainly not in the MY22 version that I have - the option is physically not there in the screen.

Oops, I might have misunderstood your question. If you meant the boot Auto Unlock when key is inside thingy, no, it wouldn’t work if the car has no power or signal.

Boot Jammed and key wont fit. Hi Jerry great videos. Thank you. P.S. I just cut away the towel from the inside and freed up the boot. The key hole from the inside is not a key hole but a slot that can be twisted by a screw driver, ( a broad bladed one). It works well when you are inside the boot, if you can find a largish screw driver or equivalent. I have a boot jammed and locked by a towel caught in the mechanism. Wont open from the outside and the manual key wont fit from the inside. It appears that the inside manual entry key hole doesn't actually exist. It is only a 'dummy' plastic insert. Is this feature not available in the Excite model? You can twist the plastic insert with a screw driver but the boot wont open. P.S. see start of post

Hi Jerry, Great videos with the sort of information all MG dealers should provide - but don't. I have one question: You seem to suggest that putting the key in the centre consul as described allows the car to 'start' (the traction battery to kick in) even if the 12V battery is flat. Is that correct or have I misunderstood you?

Thanks for the comment. No :( I meant when the key battery is flat. If the 12v battery is flat, you will need to do a proper jump start.

Dear Jerry, PLEASE do a video showing us how to “disable” keyless entry & starting OR how to turn off the smart key. Im in the UK & car thieves are stealing many vehicles using signal amplifiers. My Wife & I both own MG4 cars & have faraday pouches but the key is now a huge problem for owners. Please advise. Thankyou Jerry & keep up the good work 🫶🏻

@@JerryPanandCars Thats to be expected, however it would make a viral video “if” you explore it. Tonight ive just used the updated MG app to open/start & drive my car to check it works. Just incase I had my key in a faraday pouch, but the phone works perfectly which is maybe safer than using the key?. Anyway Jerry you’ve been a really good help, my Wife got a Trophy extended range recently & I got an x power 2 weeks ago, your videos have saved us hours & helped us operate & understand our cars. Thankyou & have a lovely Christmas 🫡

Interesting to know that.

If I arrive at a friend's whilst still in the driver's seat and I stop, they can't open the doors. I go into Park mode and they still don't unlock. The only way is to wind down the windows and they open the door from the inside. How do I allow the doors to be opened from the outside? Thanks

I'm going to miss the Megane IV central locking... 1. Proximity lock (so you do not need to touch your keys) 2. Sensor inside each handle (4 of them) just slide your hand in as you naturally would and it unlocks. Great also because the kids can unlock and get in as long as the key is nearby 3. Walkaway auto lock. As soon as you are 1.5m away from the car, all doors lock 4. (bonus) You can double tap the lock button on the key and it closes all windows from a distance

Yep, we have had some Renault used cars on my last job. I definitely enjoyed the number 2 and 4 features.

So the door only lock from outside, if the door is locked you still can open from inside without unlock it.

You can open from inside when it is locked.

6:24 I'm pretty sure that won't work if your 12-volt battery isn't working. You won't be able to start the car at all.

I meant key battery out or 12v battery failure when your vehicle can’t detect car key but then you have connected the jumper. You won’t be able to start any car if 12v battery is out that’s sure.
