It would be really nice (to say the least) if MG were to publish release notes for every update, instead of relying on dealers who often have no idea what is in each update. I asked my dealer and they could not answer the question.

Thumbs up MG. My Excite 51, have most of these features after a SW update, and I'm still on R05. Big thanks Jerry for keeping "us" posted. At least you do it.

Very good improvements have been made, I hope this update will be given to vehicles in Turkey in a short time, we are still in the r13 version and there is not even a Turkish option.

Another great video Jerry, thanks , I still don't use LKA an TJA is too twitchy, wish it was smoother like my wife's Honda crv, very smooth, also after you set my clock to Auckland time zone it now reads 1 hour ahead and I can't adjust it back.

Thanks Glenn. Try setting the time again. Switch off auto set time then select time zone.

I’d like if you want one pedal drive for the mg not to forget when you turn the car off or to set it on the favourite button

Or keep all settings as the driver preference (keep them as they were set before power off). The argument regarding the ANCAP rating is not valid, ANCAP said they only require certain feature to be present, the level of presence is the manufacturer discretion (I'm not talking about disabling features, only adjustments). Improvement on the LKA and EBA settings, they are staying on the level you set them (low is my preference). I hope one day we get the treat what we dreaming of... I had a loner ZS while they updated my SW and it changed my view on the MG4, I'm more forgiving now if you know what I mean ;)

Unfortunately, still not memorizing the drive mode or regen functions.

The SE SR (Excite 51) in the UK has 1100R33 as the latest version. This also includes the ACC change (which now makes it like most other cars I've driven which had Cruise) ... increments of 1 per push is normal; hold for increments of 5. Distance marker setting hold is also here, as is the (lack of) slow down in sweeping bends. I still don't like LKA or TJA, but at least LKA (what you call ELK) can now be turned off via the pull down menu rather than having to delve through menus. 🙂 (On mine the new option is called LDP On and highlights blue when On, grey when off). The other advantage with the AA/CP change is that you can now pull down on the screen to access the pull down menu, at least with AA anyway - previously you had to press the Home button to be able to access it. This means quick access to turn off LKA is available even if you have AA running. 🙂

Some good changes

Good info as usual Jerry. ESS 64 in next wed for 1000k check. Showing R11- Picked up 14 Dec 23. Seriously dangerous phantom braking next day across 3 lane road executing right turn from dedicated turn lane. Crash stopped crossing centre lane. waited for the bang in the back. Was OK. Today on ACC, multiple problems- car in front moves left to exit and it brakes heavily. 3 minutes later, 2 lane Rd with dense traffic on other side of long curve, repeated stutters and braking. Oh, even WIth SWl165-29176-R11, 5Km off at every turn with ACC active. Great car, drives and handles nicely. Desperately needs software upgrade. Can't use charger pad with iPhone 12s- it just sits and cooks--using cable instead. Apple Carplay is a joke. Phone connects on BT but this then has its problems with phone calls. Will be interesting to see if the western Sydney dealer expects a bag of money to update the car! Was told by Sales Mgr, at pickup, not really required at 1000k!! I think it is. The service guy I booked with said the problems could all be fixed. But it's an all-day job!!!

Thanks for the comment. I can still feel notches etc it is not as strong as it was but still not perfect.

A question from across the ditch: does R11 now allow setting the timezone to "Brisbane" or "Queensland"? Previous versions didn't and setting it to Sydney auto-forced daylight saving time, so us Queenslanders had to set it to "Guam"!

How do you check what version you're running?

In EU last version is R46. But it's completely different numbering in EU than in Australia. R46 is from August '23.

In my experience there has been at least one other change: in the TPMS the tyre pressure now displays in bar rather than kPa. This is not an improvement because it shows only two significant figures instead of three.

Re. Lane Keep Assist. I just wish there was a toggle-switch on the steering wheel ON/OFF, because, like Cruise Control, it's something you may need to keep turning on and off during a journey. At least it's quicker to turn it off now though. Most MG owners think it reduces safety, not improves it.

I'm not sure unfortunately. What issues are you facing? It is always possible to ask your dealer to do a warranty fix on the issues that includes system update.

Jerry, is it correct that the standard only has two lane assist modes compare to the Trophy with three? If so, is the second mode in the standard similar to lane departure assist (2nd mode trophy) or to emergency lane keeping (third mode Trophy)?

Interesting info. I already have r11 installed on my 77LR. The acc speed increment was a nice change however a couple of the items you mentioned don't exist on mine?? No bar above Android auto and that ELK shortcut icon option isn't on mine?? Any ideas

This might be the difference between different markets. I'm not sure why.

Jerry, the quick button in the drop down menu is named ELK. But the way I interpret it is that is disables LKA. So, alert, LDW and ELK are off. Is that correct?

Had mine updated yesterday but it seems I only got the cruise control upgrade not the infotainment one as I am still on r04

Where are you located @fishingwithtomas? I'm in QLD. I have the long range with R11 on my entertainment unit. Acc increments are still short press for 5km and long for 1km.

The latest MG4 excite I delivered hasn’t got the quick cut button for LKA / ELK yet. I haven’t tried the cruise control slowing unfortunately

Hi, get in touch with your local dealer for a software update. My one (Excite 51) has been done in November (after a month of suffering with the two thing you mentioned) and there is a great improvement. LKA is almost usable and ACC speed maintained way better than before, also ACC speed adjustment makes sense now (long press/short press, as Jerry showed). However, it is randomly "jumps back" where it was therefore I still not trust in it, so there is still some space for improvement. To note, there were no changes to SW version (MPU and MCU are both the same as before) in my case even though there is a bunch of component has been updated (BMS, CCU, EVCC, FDR, FVCM, GV, IMCU, IPK). To be fair, I'm not sure how MG keeping track of changes.

How does MG officially suggest charging LFP batteries on ac charger at home ? Is it up to 100% every time or is it still a little better to charge up to 80%?

How secure is your phone sitting on the wireless charger, is it likely to slide off if you go around a corner?

I don't have a problem with it, but I've seen a few 3d printable fences for the wireless charger, so I guess other people have had issues!

​@@leonkernan Get a piece of foam about as thick as a phone, cut at at the size of the total surface of the charger. Than cut out in the middle the size of your phone. Stick the foam to the charger surface with doubled sided tape. No sliding anymore.

does it remember to disabled the ELK after shut down of the car ?. I dont want the ELK enabled at all.

Nope. ANCAP, NCAP and all those safety standards require new vehicles to start with lane warning every time. It is annoying.
