But if you are capable for some complex thinking then you can just see I mentioned these bands intentionally since at least one is familiar for most of us. Also, if you know Behemoth so well, you know that they are not just the past few albums. Also also, since most of their songs contains many black metal elements I confident enough to mention them in a black metal band list. Also also also, this is the internet, it doesn't matter what kind of list I write there will be someone (for example the guy before you) who will have some problem with it. So, next time, if you want to complain, then please complain about the content, but don't pick one element (which not even wrong in here) from a subjective list where I could have just mentioned 28 other bands. This song is so beautiful and i feel so emotionally attached to this song. the lyrics are so deep in meaning. some few lines from the lyrics of this song are are so deeply embedded in my mind: As if you didn't know how it feels to lose As if you didn't know how it feels to lose at dice with fate As if you didn't know As if you didn't know how it feels to lose at dice with fate As if it wasn't a lifetime Spent on connecting the dots There was no pattern As if steel hooks in our backs Were more than a nuisance And we could actually feel something As if everything was to be made right one day Dreams don't come true For people like us

@@TheNoodleGod9001 No idea. 😂 Actually the whole song (or album more accurately) is dripping with cynicism and irony, with biblical inspired references like "tearing the eye out" and above mentioned self crucifying, just turned around into negative. To me they all speak of a person of faith (or who tries to be?) who tries his hardest but unsuccesfully attempts to be good in front of his God but in the end they are all just another Excercises In Futility, nothing matters in the end.

@@MaaZeus I don't think tearing your eye out is related to bible (It could be Mt 18:9 "And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away." but other lines don't relate to that anymore I think). Together with the line "missed the right tree" it points straight towards Odin, who tore his eye out and hanged himself onto Yggdrasil for knowlegde (or smt, I'm no expert in nordic religions). And the whole thing seems just pointing towards mankind striving to reach enlightenment/gain knowledge, but finding nothing. Even the album cover depicts a blind man attempting to grasp "something" but hey, there is nothing there and he can't even see it. But as you said, I think the most important thing on art is that there probably is no right answer. We could ask Mgla themselves, but they'd prolly say "find out for yourselves".
