Ooh, what a treat! Fantastic review, I love how you dove into the context surrounding the film, rather than just doing a basic synopsis and critique. After reading the original comics, I was shocked to see just how much was cut, so much so that I'd say the movie covers only 25% of the story, maybe even less. I found Mutafukaz, funnily enough, through its soundtrack, and it immediately appealed to me, as despite the absurd plot and character designs, the setting felt far more realistic and grounded than anything I'd seen typically in anime. The background designs are top notch, seeing them reminded me of a few real towns I've been to, every surface seemingly plastered with worn posters or grafitti. Also, I love the French language, but this is one case in which I think an English dub genuinely trumps the original performance. Fantastic work from the voice actors and directors at G-kids. If you're interested in unusual and interesting animated films, Studio 4.C also worked on Birdboy: the Forgotten Children, an adaptation of a Spanish comic. I would highly recommend it, it's as beautiful as it is depressing. Definitely worth a watch.

ever since quarantine this movie has really gotten more attention, the plot line is really good coming from someone with a short attention span, and the art style adds to that. The countless references to things also make people look more educated such as shakespeare, there were almost no fuck ups and everything feels super realistic such as the carnage and the environments.

I watched this last night after getting access to the U.S version of Netflix thx to a VPN. I fucking loved every bit of it, the story, characters , animation and world building was top notch all the way through. I just found it baffling how only the U.S was given access to this multi cultural gem when its just as relevant in the U.S as it is in France and the rest of Europe. Rotten tomatoes official critics only confirmed that critics mostly don't have any idea what the actual audience aka the paying customers want and like. Tbh watching rotten tomatoes critics Vs actual people views on the movie was kinda like looking at "the last jedi". It was the same pattern, critics loved it while the audience hated it. So it's pretty clear critics wouldn't know a good flick even if it bit them in the ass.

Not gonna lie, ive been wanting to watch this movie for over a week but didnt have the money to purchase it yet, so the second you said it was on NETFLIX, i immediately clicked off your video and searched it up only to see it was a 98% MATCH FOR WHAT I WATCH!! Why did i not see this title recommended to me before i saw a YT video about the gang scenes??? I think because its an R rated animated movie its intentionally buried by other family friendly content on the streaming site, I hope this movie starts getting the reviews it deserves. I watched less than 30 seconds before falling completely in love with the animation style and characters, now im going to watch it in its completion and fall even more in love. THANK YOU!!

I knew this movie was special. The entire time I was watching the movie I was wondering what it was that makes this movie feel so different to watch than most other movies and I think it’s because the story and it’s production is as honest as they come, and I think that’s the most important quality of this movie to me. This is a movie that makes me feel like I should have paid to see it.

This is a GREAT review and I agree with everything you said. Also yeah before the advertisements for the limited theater release, I never knew about this comic series but after watching the trailer I was hooked and then the first night it played in theaters I went to go see it. I was saddened and surprised that when I did see it in the theater that first night, there was like maybe five other people in there watching it that night and that was it, granted it was a weeknight but still I loved the movie since then and ever since I always try to get people to watch it. I actually ended up watching it twice in the theater. I always felt like an underdog myself so I do gravitated to those kind of stories.

After watching the film I personally think that the critiques that you have stated are honestly warranted. The film feels extremely rushed with characters not having enough time to be fleshed out which caused me to not care very much at all. However I will say I love the world of MFKZ and thanks to this video I can see that the source material seems incredible and I can’t wait to see Run’s vision fully realized in his comic series. Hopefully I will enjoy the comic and come to appreciate MFKZ as much as you. Thank you.

I've never actually gone out and seen it, especially considering I don't watch movies much. But I absolutely loved watching the trailer(s) when I first found them. I've always preferred animation to live-action and thought that it's never given enough of a chance beyond children's media, and watching nothing but a trailer for MFKZ was enough to justify my thoughts ten times over. I really want to watch this someday, as the animation alone feels like it's earned my time and money moreso than many other films I've heard of

I understand everything this Movie is showing cause i lived in a place like that it's called L.A. and these critic's will never know what it's like to live in a Red Zoned city.
