JHudd didn't. She might have a powerhouse of a voice herself, but operatic voices are a whole other ball of wax that it takes a firm, strong hand that directly but gently controls their path to help them shape and develop their voices to their full potential. I mean, "Smells Like Teen Spirit?" Come on.

I just love Jennifer Hudson not being afraid to do something different!

To hear them singing “O Fortuna” like that gave me chills!! Magnificent!! I was half expecting King Arthur to come storming the stage on horseback with Excalibur held aloft and gleaming under the stage lights! 👏👏

LoKee, how did you come to the conclusion that "The Flower Duet" is the most difficult duet ever? Have you considered "Mira O Norma" from the opera, Norma? That one not only requires demanding legato lines, but the second half of the duet has some tricky coloratura too. "Vicino a Te" from the opera Andrea Chenier is also a powerhouse duet and requires 2 very strong voices. Same goes for "Teco Io Sto" from Un Ballo in Maschera. So... yeah, I'm curious on your thought process.

That would be so very very unfair to any other vocals. But the show should encourage hard rock, opera, operetta. It's unfortunate that the judges are always pop musicians. Iron Maiden should judge lol I wonder what voice they'd turn to. Amira the self taught child opera singer, or Andrea Bocelli should be a judge. I really do wonder for whom would they turn.

@@KerKhent I mean, let’s face it, most judges actually don’t sing. People in the pop music industry are not musicians, I’m sorry, there is no musicality, just looks and shows. You just have to listen to a singer to know weather they have a good technique or not. People now get excited about some singers being capable of singing mid notes like if they were a big accomplishment, even worse they get excited they can sing those same notes a few years later. People are so uneducated about it. These girls sound pretty good, though they lack a bit of resonance. With more study and the appropriate teachers they could be big.

Vocal talent is talent, but it would be interesting to see how judges from other genres would respond/vote/coach a singer from a totally different style from their own. I suspect that they only scout judges who are wildly popular to bring large numbers of viewers.

That's so true. One can't expect pop judges to appreciate opera and the vocal requirement that an aria, or duet aria, demands in a singer. It's so way out of these set of judges league. It's like these beautiful angels deigning to go down on earth to be judged by a high school beauty pageant judges...

Thank you Bella Voci for bringing the beauty and grace of Opera into our era. Thank you Lady Jennifer for taking, what I consider to be, the hardest challenge and chance for any judge in the history of The Voice. I know you had to step out of your comfort zone with these two amazing young ladies. It was written all over your expression when you turned your chair as if you were thinking “These ladies are just to damn good not to be a part of this journey, I don’t know if I can do them justice, but I’m not going to let’s these two go. I’ll just have to step up my game!” And you did! Your performance together proved your skills and vocal abilities. Again, Bella Voci (beautiful voices), thank you for taking me back to the beauty of opera today.

They got robbed. They deserve the win. Unbelievable voices . i dont think thats the last we seen of them. Someone will sign them.

The music industry is controlled by various artists and unseen shadowy figures. They won't even allow actual good, positive music to even get close to being produced and aired. Nothing uplifting women by men, no romance songs by men and absolutely nothing that calls for peace between Americans.

Every performance was awesome, but final... that was epic, that was show. Opera never go that far in that type on shows. Great job girls and JHud. PS What a note, JHud!

this was barely a touch of real opera, talent was also, just barely acceptable for opera. good but not trained voices, pitch problems, lot of auto tune and voice back ups added to singing track when they sang

The Flower Duet by Leo Delibes is my all-time favorite opera piece, and they nailed it in their audition. I love opera. I wish it was more popular.

#1 They are both SO beautiful. #2 They sing ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. #3 They deserve to WIN the voice. #4 Even though they did not win, they still just opened A MILLION doors for their talent to be shared.

They are truly a pair that should stay together their looks their voice and their determination to bring Opera Back Bless them in all endeavors that may come their way

To the one hundred and three that down voted these two magnificent voices, you fail to deserve to know what beautiful music is!

As an Italian, their pronunciation is almost flawless! It is wonderful to see how even if there is a genre that’s not really popular at the moment there always is someone that doesn’t follow the mass and tries to do things their own way and make people passionate about it. I also love opera and they were great.

Jennifer is the only one who would be able to coach them...phenomenal!

Winning is not always a good thing. It means you are now the property of the show's label. You have to sign an agreement to that effect to be on the show. Therefore, you have very little say in your creative or financial future. The girls are now free to pursue any opportunity they want. I hope this makes you feel better about them not winning. BTW, I am also a fan. The girls are the real deal.

It's because opera isn't standard anymore. They don't know how to coach it and it will most likely not get very far.

I get it: all of the judges were blown away by these ladies, but they all must've been asking themselves, "What do I know about opera? How can I coach THEM? Can I help them in any way? Maybe somebody else will turn. Somebody's got to." J-Hud, the only female, was the only one who had the cojones to hit the button. Shame on the guys!

@@Elena-bf5zz Sorry, it's just that I was a little disappointed that Tom Jones couldn't quite pull the trigger, because I've always thought of his voice as one of the most nearly operatic voices ever in popular music. I have long admired Jennifer for her strength as a person as well as for the power and quality of her voice, so it wasn't disappointing that she turned. I don't think Will or the other guy would have been right for Belle Voci, and I don't know whether they even had room on their teams for another act at this point. It just struck me that, while all of the judges were bowled over by these ladies, only the woman turned for them. I think it did take courage to commit to coaching them, and clearly, J-Hud was up to the task of challenging them in a way that got them great exposure.

@@craigmooring2091 The way I see it, you may have missed out on a small detail. Look how Tom holds his hand over the button and how close he's watching Jen. He wanted her to get the girls and had no intend of pitching against her. But he also wanted the girls to advance. I'm quite sure if Jennifer hadn't pressed her button, Tom had stepped in at the last second. ;) Edit: Oh, and Will turned for the same song a few seasons ago, in an instant, and he also had another audition, one of the contestants was even shouting "Come on Will!". But he can't turn to the Flower Duet each time, it would be a bit too predictable ;)

It wasn't about the cojones, it was about letting the judge who could work them pick them up, that's why will.i.am was telling her to turn.

Okay, these women blew my socks off and ALL I want to do is hear those powerhouse voices in an opera house singing my favorite. Live opera has a way of moving even heavy rocks! These girls have it!

When a recording raises all the hair on the body, I can only imagine the effect of the live performance.

I love Opera. It's just so pure n angelic. They slated it everytime

I know Skyfall is a dramatic song but their vocals take it to whole new level of dramatic. Well done!!!

Jennifer you rock because I'm sitting her looking at this and I can't figure our how in the world you coached them.

I could not stop watching. These women are amazing.

I've watched many of these and the one thing I've learned is that most of these coaches never turn for Opera singers, personally I think they're either afraid of them or just don't know how to coach them, but Jennifer said what I've been thinking for year's, if you go on a show called The Voice, it shouldn't matter what genre you are, if you got the talent.

The last performance with JHud was beautiful 👌🏼 Belle Voci are pretty and amazing ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Wowwww Sophie's hands were shaking so hard during the Battle but she still killed it!

Sometimes music, voices and the song melt into a potion thats too mesmerizing and perfect for the ordinary folks to fathem. I belive thats' what happened here with these two extraordinary talents. The pop industry simply isn't the place for such grandeur and magic. I just stumbled on this gem by accident and I really hope that you have had the time of your life ever since this was aired. You so deserve every second of 'bringing opera to the masses' I love every second of what you show us on this video. Thank you for almost making me cry when your voices melt together... Belle Voci ! I will remember that name for long time ! Those two ladies come out of nowhere to fill up the space that was somewhat "empty" because opera singing is not the most famous genre nowadays ! They were astonishing , they had what it takes and i am sure the next decade will be busy for them and pleasant for us ! Well done ladies !

What beautiful voices they have! I always listen to opera with my nonna so I appreciate JHud not shying away from them just because they arent singing mainstream music. Brava!

Insane, just.... wow I mean WOW WOW WOW!!! This was so refreshing to see something "new" on The Voice and they nailed it every time imo

JHud truly was the *perfect* coach for these incredibly talented girls. Along with Alison Porter from Season 10 of The Voice, these girls are my fave The Voice contestants ever ❤️

This is bloody amazing and bloody awesome! They had the best coach they could ever wish for. I like both final performances, so Carmina Burana and the "trio" with Jennifer from Titanic. It's a dreadful song, but these three ladies made it a different one. And it's really amazing to see that opera has a platform in The Voice! Well done and thank you!

mkmons even the choreography for Carmine seemed lost. Should have gotten Ruth Page’s choreography for Carmine. People would have understood better.

OMG, that final performance was AMAZING, it gave mr chills, was perfect, everything, the best final performance ive watched!

Wow! I HAVE A NEW RESPECT FOR OPERA AND FOR JENNIFER. I DIDN'T REALIZE SHE HAD THAT BIG VOICE IN HER. I HOPE THE OPERA GIRLS CAN BE PRODUCED OR BE PRODUCED.

JHudd didn’t win American Idol and she went on to be mega successful,,,,I wish the same for these 2 amazing opera singers !

Saying Jennifer Hudson is "keeping up with them" is underrating her and severely overrating Belle Voci. They are okay enough in their style. She is an absolute unsurpassed phenomenon in hers.

@@Pasunsoprano From a marketing standpoint, sure, because majority of todays music audience can't tell what real talent is. Pop music is a shame to the industry as a whole. But judging from actual talent Belle Voci is so far ahead this Hudson girl it is not even funny. They belong in an opera hall ifront of a sophisticated audience.

@@styxzero1675 ehm..no. They definitely do not belong on an opera stage. Not by a long shot. Take it from an opera singer, vocal coach and audition jury member with a 35 year career. Jennifer Hudson is an exceptional well trained singer with great technique, not some average pop singer.

These women can sing. They have soul. They have nuances in their voices. Everything today is uniform mush and inaudible.

They were AMAZING!!

These girls are like goddesses, mesmerizing singing and so fun to watch too. Very refreshing, and not a bit of it boring as one might expect from opera.

Why am I just hearing about this! So powerful. I love it thank you. My heart is happy to know people are still singing opera.
