Ok for this week's toy tuesday i'm doing another batman ! so we are taking a look at two epic retro batman toys ! based on the 1966 TV series. the first is by mcfalain, i found the batcave playset in a shop in manchester and as soon as i saw i i knew i had to buy it, finding the batmobile took me to york and the figures i found in a shop in birmingham, the set reminds me of the 70's mego toy and the batcave is a great representation of the original show, the figures are good too. like i said it has all round retro appeal especially to a toy collector like me ! and is great value too, critics have said the batmobile is too small, and the figures sit too high in the car and the batcave is too simplistic, but i feel this toy is meant to bridge the gap between retro toy, collectable item, display piece and generation bridging toy, which i think it achieves effortlessly with its convincing look, retro toy style and displayability . the second is the mezco 5 points delux batman set. this a master class in toy making with accessories ! smaller in scale than the previous batmobile the Mezco 1966 Batman Deluxe Boxed Set is a master class in toy making ! where as the Mc Farlain batmobile is simplistic and retro, the mezco has detail and ticks that bring its own charm to the set ! the attention to detail is epic. not only do you get a batmobile with flames and wire cutter, batman and robin figures with stands, interchangeable heads and accessories, you get a joker, catwoman, riddler and penguin figure too ! and a cardboard batcave too (but i'll get to that) so you get a lot for your money in the big box. the critics have slammed the paintwork and figure quality in the past, on this set they exceptonial, the batcave is rubbish though and the velcro tabs that keep it together are missing on one side of mine which is annoying, but the rest of the set is epic you won't regret buying ti once you've got it on display ! and hopefully they'll upgrade that batcave too !

I was 9 when the series came out. I would have loved these then. Well, I’d really love them now!!! The best Batman for me.
Penguin was always my favorite all time 66 batman villain. Quack quack quack.

I was fortunate enough to score two Batcaves and Batmobiles....I think they are decent and I never really had playsets as a kid in the 70s so this hits all the nostalgia chords!

✨✨see, without all the cardboard stuff we had with our toys in the 70s, they would not be as valuable today. the cardboard easily broke or ripped or got lost...one had to care about it, to keep it in good shape. i like the mezco set better because of that fact...it has this fragile touch to it . the one "fault" the macfarlane batmobile has, is not the seat being to high but the car being a tad to small, imo. stay sound and keep doing what you`re doing, cause it is fun watching you ! ✨✨
I actually picked up the Mcfarlane car and Batcave. Loved the look as it reminded me of the Corgi Batmobile triple pack with the Batmobile, Bat copter and Batboat that my gran bought me back in the 70s. Loved them. I'm planning on doing a modify of the Batmobile to paint extra details and now I'm going to remove the seat base... thanks for the tip.

its a great set i spotted the cave first and had to buy it ! its crying out to be modified too ! i'm not sure if the seat is glued in or cast in but i think lowering it that bit will give it a much better look. thanks as always for your comments stay safe and send me photos when you've done the mods ! have fun M

@@BROOKSCOLLECTABLES Seat is part of the top. I've had the whole batmobile in pieces over the last couple of days. Easy cutting with a dremel though.

The whole point of the 5 point I believe is to have those old cardboard backdrops like the old starwars toys use to have...if you look at the other mezco 5points they all have beautiful sets with cool cardboard backdrops Ultraman, godzilla, Popeye, and still waiting on fleisher superman. I totally understand why you're not keen on the cardboard, I wouldn't want it destroy it so easily. I feel the mcfarlane batcave would make the mezco set better.

It’s just a bit of a disappointment after all the effort they put into the models, figures, packaging and accessories I thought they could have made it look a bit more like the McFarlane one, but that’s just me being super critical, really they are both epic toys in their own rights, and I think the better the toy the more imperfections it should have ! No toy should be perfect 😂😂😂 it keeps the imagination going and makes you want to upgrade ! hope you enjoyed the video thanks for commenting ! M

Up close it’s not really a great pint job either, but I have seen worse than mine though. It is a better detailed model but I like the charm of the other one, it’s so difficult because they both have their pros and cons! As you can tell I’m still making my mind up on them even now 😂😂😂 glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for commenting. M

Lewis G Wilson played the first Batman. Great review & great to hear you're ok. Hopefully the ongoing popularity of the 1966 Batmobile will prompt the licence owners to give permission to Hornby/Corgi to re-release the classic diecast Corgi 267 batmobile!

I chromed the McFarlane batmobile and it looked a lot better but when we unboxed the mezco version I did feel it was far superior. Lewis Wilson played the first Batman. Glad you are feeling better mate 👍🏻

Definitely! Or they should sell add on parts to make it more like the 60’s batcave!
Dunno where you got those items from but the Mezco set I bought for £124.99 (and they still have them on sale as we speak), Mcfarlane Batcave is £27.99, Batmobile £29.99, figures are £17.99(which is around what you paid) but you were ripped off massively on the Mezco set

Glad to hear that you're better, Sir. That is very, very good news. As a huge Batman fan, I've always had a soft spot for the 60s TV series. I own the Mezco set and I absolutely love it. I do agree that we should've gotten a better Batcave/Wayne Manor for the price point though. I also love the Funko and Figures Toys Company '66 Batman toys. Stay healthy and take care of yourself. Ironically the joke about disappointment was the highlight of this video for me! 😁 Each one a gem M, and bravo for punching that lump on the nose! 💪 This video triggered a memory of a HUGE blue Batman & Robin motorcycle and side-car I had as a kid. I remember being depressed as my dad said it was too big to pack in my case when we flew to Majorca on Laker Airlines. But, it was on that same holiday (my first) whilst the flight was delayed that my dad bought me a copy of Omni magazine (because it had a robot on the cover). Flicking through this magazine, bored and tired I turned a page and discovered production stills for Alien... I became a man right then! 🤣🤖 🇬🇧👽 Best wishes mate. 🌞

I honestly dont get the complaints about price though. The Mezco set comes with SEVEN figures and a vehicle. I'm looking around at ALL the toy companies and there is no company that would ever offer 7 figures at a price point below $100... then to add in a vehicle and some paper craft? Ok. Its NOT cheap or a bargain, but its not 'too expensive' either. Super7 sells a pack of 6 Cobra figures with an MSRP of $125... no vehicles or playsets or anything. Hasbro 1/18 scale things lately are around $15 - $25 a figure, depending on the accessories. McFarlane Toys Page Punchers, which is about the lamest, crappiest 3 inch figures I've seen in a long time, are $12 a pop... so 7 of those alone is $84.

The figures and Batmobile look pretty cool, but not $120 cool. The Batcave is literally a cardstock school project. This set should cost no more than $74.99.
